</p><p>So, when Thanos of the altered 2014 timeline goes to the main timeline with his entire army, including Gamora, Nebula, and the Black Order, of the Black Order we only see Ebony Maw on his ship, but he summons all four of them during the final battle... yet The Other is not among them, nor do we ever see him.</p><p>
</p><p>Why isn't he seen during the battle? Thanos brought his entire army, and since the timeline split happened before Quill got the Orb, which Korath presumably didn't come for it, The Other would still be alive. It doesn't make sense that Thanos would leave him behind, either.</p><p>
</p><p>So, where is he during the battle? Did he battle on land? He should have, since he's super fast, but he was never shown, so I can only assume he was on Thanos's ship the whole time. Therefore, he would have been blown up along with its interior by Captain Marvel.</p><p>
</p><p>I know the simple answer is the writers forgot him (at LEAST they gave him an onscreen death before they forgot him, but it doesn't answer why his alternate timeline self is mysteriously absent).</p><p>
</p><p>Do you think he was on the ship, was fighting on ground offscreen, or was just left behind? Or had somehow been killed by Ronan before Thanos time traveled?</p>

His actions and goal were horrible, but if he was right about one thing it's that humanity is on a path to self-destruction. Anyone in the US can see that. I live in Canada and I can still see it. Again, doesn't make his genocidal plans any less malicious, but there are many moments I think to myself "Ultron was right" when people in power just make stuff worse for no reason.

Hela came across as so violent she was out of Odin's control and refused to change her ways with him, with lines like "my ambition outgrew his" and "he decided to become a benevolent king".
Loki could have a spot on the list but he was planning to take over Asgard before he found out about his origins. But he did find his redemption in the end.
<p>Well, both Hela and Killmonger are dead (Black Panther stabbed Killmonger with a spear), so there's no pattern, but they'll still want to keep Thanos alive.

</p><p>Please don't judge, I kinda have a thing for mysterious/obscure villains, and speedsters, and he actually seemed more threatening than Thanos himself (it's all in the voice, though Ebony Maw was pretty cool as the sophisticated minion too). And again, he was the first hint to Thanos's existence, and kept Thanos's identity hidden until the end, and both seemed refreshingly new after Loki and also 10 years of focusing on Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter.</p>

<p>What MarvelSharky said. The Other survived the other Chitauri's deaths (no pun intended), and talked to Thanos in the mid-credits scene, revealing Thanos for the first time. Then he returned in Guardians of the Galaxy and Ronan twisted his head 180 degrees with his hammer. But that likely wouldn't have happened in the alternate timeline, since Ronan doesn't even seem to have sent Korath to Morag. So he has to still be alive going into the final battle, either left in the past or on Thanos's ship. I'll headcanon the latter.</p><p>

<p>He was the first hint as to the existence of Thanos, the shadowy villain behind Loki (who was used as main villain twice in a row), and he's fast, sinister, and mysterious. Plus, he was also the key to saving the Thanos scene and Ronan's reputation as the main villain of GotG. Or at least his death was.</p><p>

<p>Fighting skills or no, Thanos has to have him for a reason, and he doesn't seem like he was planning to return to his timeline, so he has to have brought the whole gang along. Did he really just ditch him and leave him alone in his timeline?</p><p>

<p>Strange he doesn't make much use of his speed. The writers said he was supposed to be powerful compared to Loki, to illustrate the point of Ronan killing him so he won't look like a wimp compared to Thanos. He seemed to be Thanos's second in command at least (which would explain why Thanos would keep him at his side in The Avengers), though ever since Infinity War they seem to sub Ebony Maw for him even at moments in the past when he should still be alive.</p>

I guess they forgot him after they killed him in Guardians of the Galaxy (Ebony seemed to stand in for him there in Gamora's flashback too), though Thanos did quote him by calling Avengers "unruly wretches". My headcanon goes, he stayed on Thanos's ship, and was blown up by Captain Marvel, since it's unlikely he left him behind, and as Korath does not seem to be sent to Morag, Ronan can't have killed him yet in this timeline.</p><p>

<p>@Caleb Dunbar Loki's still dead, but his escape with the tesseract back in time created an alternate reality, so who knows how that will end up, and maybe that'll be the Loki spinoff everyone's talking about. </p><p>

<p>@Frazer Eclipse They could have used the Time Stone to rewind time once they got it, couldn't they? It's shown they can set it so certain people remember the rewind, like Strange's time loop with Dormammu, then Thor could've just decapitated Thanos right after he got the Mind Stone.</p><p>
