What if Yondu survived in Guardians of the Galaxy 2? I feel that the major thing would be preventing Peter from having his tantrum and causing Thanos to break free, but if Doctor Strange knew that Thanos HAD to win in their reality, I'm not to sure.

<p>Okay, so in the campfire scene in <i>Vol.2</i>, Drax is confused by Ego's presence, as he always though that <i>Yondu</i> was Peter's father, since Peter "looks just like him". At the time, this is obviously a funny moment that foreshadows Yondu's <i>"he may have been your father boy, but he wasn't your daddy!"</i> line, but I think it wasn't just Drax being naive and ignorant.
</p><p>Since Drax tries to use metaphors more often in <i>Vol.2</i>, I'm starting to think that he actually meant Yondu was Peter's father <i>figure</i>, or his "Daddy" as Yondu says later, but the others just didn't know what he meant because he worded it wrong. And when he said Peter "looked just like him" he actually meant that they <i>acted</i> alike, not that they <i>looked</i> alike. And because Drax still talks quite sophisticated and articulately, he simply doesn't use terms like "Dad" or "Daddy" since it's more of a slang word, so he uses "father" for both biological parents and child-caring figures.
</p><p>Of course, I'm definitely thinking too far into this funny moment, but I still think it works well for building toward Quill's revelation.
