I can’t really think of one
It would be awesome if they replace Crismón Dynamic with Whiplash. Have Tony develop more as he did in the first movie. Last thing is less of the Shield/Avengers set up with Nick Fury.
Now while seeing if the yellow car racer, you know the one that blew up behind Vanko was dead which they probably were. I went to the page on Ivan Vanko and saw the little symbol representing deceased next to the name of the pet bird Hammer gave him and I got confused. So apparently according to the page about it says her body is found by Black Widow when looking for Ivan, now since I was watching Iron Man 2 at the time on disney plus I skipped ahead to that part to try and spot her and couldn't. So did the bird actually die or was this a joke, and it actually was killed by Ivan then in what scene/time stamp (for on disney plus) is it shown at.
In Iron Man 2 there was a scene where Hammer plays golf and calls Ivan about the Iron Man ripped off suit demonstration. If you watch it, closely or pause the scene. You can actually see Senator Stern was standing beside Justin. And I can say (more likely to an evidence of a theory) that they've been working together to put Tony into the court (or you can say "framed him" in sortaway). With an accusation they made about Iron Man suits being dangerous weaponize suit as a modal to make Iron Man bad in public eyes, which they failed misserably.
Man, MCU sure loves details and I love it too.
Has Jon Favreau and filmmakers really shot and filmed Mickey Rourke's Ivan Vanko three dimension character and lots of his scenes, like motivation and character arc, especially sympathetic scenes in Iron Man 2? I need to know
Mickey Rourke’s portrayal of Whiplash in Iron Man 2 is usually regarded as one of the MCU’s more forgettable villains. The movie as a whole I think is overshadowed by the first Iron Man, but I’d like to make a case specifically for Ivan Vanko; I actually think he’s an effective villain.
Vanko doesn’t have the charisma of an corporate tyrant like Jeff Bridges’s Obadiah Stane or the zeal of Guy Pierce’s Aldrich Killian, but he has a sort of subtle villainy not many other super-villains brought.
He’s almost like Tony’s evil opposite. Where Tony is outgoing and always in the spotlight, Ivan is reserved, coming from a harsh upbringing. Despite looking like a thug, Ivan is nearly as smart as Tony, building his own arc reactor and creating energy whips that tore through the Iron Man’s titanium armor.
What’s more, he’s a master manipulator. When Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer recruits him, Ivan immediately takes advantage of Hammer’s naïveté. He pretends to speak broken English and be generally disconnected, but when speaking with Tony he’s fluent in English and very much in control of the situation.
I think the best moment with Ivan is when he’s talking to Tony on the phone, the two men guarding him hanging dead from the ceiling and Ivan’s hands covered in blood. And yet, Ivan is calm and collected. Really menacing scene, in my opinion.
I don’t think he’s on the level of a villain like Thanos or Killmonger, but I think MCU Whiplash deserves a little more credit than he usually gets.
What do you guys think?
