I kinda want to see him team up with Deadpool & Wolverine in the Void. Hopefully he comes back in Deadpool 4.

She was definitely confused about how Thanos came back 5 years later after they thought they kill him on his Garden 2 planet after the Battle of Earth is over.

A common criticism of Avengers: Endgame is that the Avengers didn't bring back Tony and Natasha at the end like they did with Gamora. This criticism is stupid because they aren't looking at if it's ethical to do it.

The reason why they let Gamora stay is because she helped them defeat her Thanos and she wouldn't have a home to go back to (not because of the TVA because Loki seasons 1 & 2 and What If...? seasons 1-3 are technically concurrent with Endgame since they take place outside of time). It is a matter of ethics to bring people into the present of the Sacred Timeline. Bringing Tony and Natasha into the present would take away the meaning of their sacrifices.

The Hulk said in Avengers: Endgame that changing the past doesn't change the future; however, the last episode of Runaways showed their time travel efforts in fact changing the outcome and thus paving the way for a brighter future for them all -- furthermore, one of the seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. saw the lead agents trying to save the future by traveling into the past (and, while not in fact part of the M.C.U., X-Men: Days of Future Past and, by extent, X-Men: Days of Future Past - The Rogue Cut saw Wolverine alter the past to save the future). If you ask me, whether time travel does or doesn't alter the future or create alternate timelines isn't a solid science. It all depends on a wide variety of factors: the time period one's traveling back to, whether one exists or not in that point in time, the location, the people involved, if they know or not yet know the people who are time traveling in that era, certain events and the circumstances surrounding them, and the means by which time travel is executed, whether it be transferring one's consciousness into their younger body, actually physically transporting back to such an era, using some kind of vehicle like a "time ship" or something like that to time travel, and so on and so forth. Anyone else have any similar analyses?

At the end of Runaways, we see the group prevent a future where Gert dies, so their future selves get erased along with their timeline (like Back To The Future). But as established in Endgame, shouldn't that future have remained as an alternate timeline? Does Chase's quantum gravity time travel work differently to quantum realm time travel or something? I know the real reason is that they hadn't properly established the time travel rules yet, but obviously I'd rather have a proper in-universe explanation

Could someone explain to me why Fitz-Simmons who traveled in time from 2023 to 2019 did not create a new timeline when their past selves are in space? Is it a loop or something?

I am going to watch Endgame and later Loki with my brother this weekend, and I want to explain him how time travel works in the MCU first, so he'll understand better. does anyone have a good explanation?

Heyo Marvel Fans. I wanted to share a theory that has been bothering some people over time. in case there is already given information or im losing something, feel free to share it in the comments.

So what's the "History Altered by Chronicoms" Timeline? Is it the timeline that appeared in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Series | Season 6/7. In this timeline the Chronicoms tried to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. by time travelling, causing several changes to the point almost every S.H.I.E.L.D. base including the triskellion was destroyed in the 80s and some people died after or before its time.

With that being said, let's now talk about the time travelling bureaucrats that tried to mantain the "Sacred Timeline" after He Who Remains created the TVA and a whole culture to keep everything in Multiversal Peace. Where every branched universe is reseted back to the main path until Sylvie killed He.

Now let's go back to the Chronicom timeline, Deke decided to stay back in the branched timeline as the Agents use the Quantum Realm to go back to their 2019. Considering that the TVA can detect this branched timeline, was it completely deleted? In the Loki Series it is shown that every timeline until Sylvie killed He Who Remains was already reseted.

But as we know, Sylvie made those timelines branch again, and considering that the Multiverse existed since ever until HWR decided to make the TVA, then technically Deke and the whole Chronicom Timeline should be back too, but did they experience being reseted?

But there's another question, why didn't the TVA arrested the Agents/Chronicoms by time travelling like that?

I think this question answers for itself. As you all know the TVA can make exceptions considering the context of the reason why the timeline branched. The Avengers HAD to time travel to save the half of the unvierse, they had to visit other timelines to save the world which was permitted by "The Time Keepers" / He Who Remains because that's supposed how it had to happen (Excluding Loki Laufeyson's escape in 2012). And if we consider that the TVA can make exceptions, if the Time Travelling Avengers were "permitted" to Time Travel, the agents can too because they're both on dangerous missions in order to save the world. And if something goes wrong (Loki's Escape in 2012 as the several changes on the Chronicom Timeline) then the TVA can reset those branched timelines when the mission is done.

A time travel conversation on trying to figure out the rules of it in the MCU (going off Marvel Studios' properties, thus excluding Marvel TV rules for the sake of the conversation). If anyone wants to join and/or enlighten me, by all means! :)

Time travel can be very confusing. When Avengers: Endgame came out, there was many a discussion about how it really worked, and who did what, etc. However, many of our users seem to believe that A) the timelines the Avengers visited in Endgame always existed as parallel universes, or B) The Avengers went back in time, and in doing so created an alternate timeline/You cannot go into the past without immediately causing a branch. If I'm not mistaken "B" is what is used widely here on this Wiki, thus treating Hulk's conversation as being with an alternate Ancient One, as opposed to the main one, same with Thor talking to his mother; the wiki considers it to be an alternate Frigga, of an alternate timeline ("2013/Time Heist") created by Rocket & Thor.

However, the first Loki episode ("Glorious Purpose") informs us that there is one timeline (The Sacred Timeline) and that any branches formed are deleted before it reaches the Red Line, after which it cannot be erased. That first episode also has the TVA state that the branch in 2012 occurred after Loki escaped with the Tesseract, thus making it sound as if everything before that (Ant-Man giving Tony cardiac issues, Cap fighting Cap, Cap saying "Hail HYDRA" in the elevator) was all part of the main Sacred timeline. ... How is that possible?? HYDRA agents like Rumlow & Sitwell clearly never had Cap (Steve Rogers, obviously) tell them that in 2012 in the main timeline, as it would contradict the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier two years later.

The second Loki episode ("The Variant") reveals even more. Going back in time does not automatically create an alternate/branched timeline. So you can indeed go into the past and under a specific set of criteria, not branch out. Loki & Mobius go into the past of the main timeline, to 79 A.D. and witness the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in Pompeii. And as Mobius discovers, this does not branch the timeline. Loki even says he could go to Asgard right before Surtur initiated Ragnarok & knock Hulk off the Rainbow Bridge (which obviously didn't happen in Thor: Ragnarok) and that, due to this little 'loophole', it would not branch out the timeline whatsoever but would be part of the Sacred one.

This, coupled with the Loki episodes revealing that the 2012 branch started when Loki escaped with the Tesseract and not when the 2023 Avengers arrived there, could also mean that Rocket & Thor, having arrived in Asgard right before the Dark Elves' attack, were free to do whatever and it would not branch out the timeline... meaning that there is no 2013/Time Heist timeline, and rather Thor & Rocket had gone to Thor's actual past. I feel like someone's gonna say "Well, maybe the Dark Elf attack isn't an apocalyptic event" but the TVA report file list the the D.B. Cooper hijacking somehow counts as apocalyptic (somehow)... so if that counts, so would the Dark Elves' attack on Asgard, I'd say.

Speaking of going to the past, there's Steve Rogers. It is a travesty that both the directors & writers of Endgame cannot agree on how his story ended. The writers are adamant Steve went to the past of the main timeline and lived a life there, in the shadows, and that he was always Peggy's husband. The Russos state that Steve went back to the 40s and immediately branched out, free to live a life & change history as he saw fit. I don't see Marvel Studios having a "third party" (be it Kevin Feige or one of their shows) clarifying this, hence why The Falcon and The Winter Soldier never addressed it either. Heck, they didn't even tells us what happened to Steve after he came back & gave Sam the shield.

However, with what we've seen so far from Loki, it seems implausible Steve's branched timeline could go on for 70 years without nearing Red Line. The 1985 Wisconsin branch in The Variant began to near Red Line in about an hour or so (judging by the weather outside and the Renaissance Fair still going strong) so it's not like the TVA could've allowed Steve to live in a branched timeline, wait until he returns to the main one as an old man, and then prune the branched one he lived in. It also seems probable that Steve could have inadvertently found a similar loophole as "The Loki Variant" and found a way to go into the past of Sacred Timeline without branching off or alerting the TVA, thus they remain unaware of his actions.

So, to "sum" it up: At the moment, the wiki is operating under the rules that 2012/Time Heist formed when the Avengers went back in time, but the Loki show reveals that the alternate timeline didn't exist until Loki escaped with the Tesseract. How then do we sort out the Avengers Time Heist stuff that occurred before Loki's escape, as it would suggest it was part of the main timeline? Also, If you can go to the past right before an 'apocalyptic' event, then did Thor & Rocket go to the actual 2013 past & speak to actual Frigga, instead of creating 2013/Time Heist?

Season 5 and up ruined it for Agents Of Shield. Time travel is no good for programs or movies unless it's done right, like endgame did.

Tbh I didn't really like his Endgame decision because he had created this whole new life for himself and he had worked hard to save Bucky since 2014. Then he just straight up abandons Sam and Bucky to go live with Peggy. I think Steve told Bucky what he planned to do because Bucky looked sad when Steve went into the time machine. Steve was all Bucky had (other than Sam ofc) and Steve just left him alone in the world. He can obviously protect himself but Steve didn't know Bucky would get a pardon from his crimes! Imo what Steve did was selfish and unlike the honest, caring Steve Rogers we have grown to love and care for. Please don't come at me it's just my opinion.

I personally think that they are gonna imitate the recent Thor retcon by making Frigga the first Phoenix host who was freed from it when Thor was a baby in Thor love and Thunder , Loki or GoTG vol 3

Can someone explain to me? I mean I understand time travel from this series and I know it has It sense, but I'd like to know more about it so I can understand them 100%, can someone explain to me about the time travel? And about those Jemma and Fitz and how didn't this create a new timeline?

I believe the real reason captain america was old after putting the stones back and living with Peggy, is because the quantum tunnel that he used was more different and advanced than the other ones we've seen so far. Other than just traveling to alternate past timelines, it also grants the user access to travel to the past of their own main timeline, allowing more linear time travel, thus explaining why Steve was old in the present. Also in doing that, there might actually be two captain americas depending on if Steve traveled to a point in which his past self was still trapped in ice. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to see old Steve in the first place and he would be in an entirely different timeline. This might even explain Chris Evans' apparent return to the MCU. They might explore both old Steve and the Steve that was still stuck in the ice and bring him out.
