Stormbreaker

In Avengers: Endgame when Steve Rogers went back in time he created a different time line. Also, in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania when Kang mentioned a guy with hummer there are theories that he didn't mentioned Thor because Thor has the Stormbraker but he mentioned Steve from this different time line, in which as Kang say he killed him. TVA didn't do something about it (maybe because it's a theory), but in Loki series sawed a woman who looks to Peggy Carter.

For those of you who don't know, Thunderstrike is a mace used by another Thor variant: Eric Masterson. It basically has all the powers of Mjolnir and Stormbreaker, except it's a mace. Now, why do I prefer this variant of Thors weapon better than Stormbreaker? And why would I choose this weapon specifically other than the other variants like Jarnbjorn or Ultimate Mjolnir?

Let's start with why I want Thunderstrike. First of all it's design, for those of you who live under a rock, a mace is much like hammer in which it's also a bludgeoning weapon, except it can be used to smash on all sides rather than a hammer having only 2 ends to cave someone's head in with. Except with this mace specifically, which seems to be more a triangular wedge shaped, with 3 flat sides and the triange side facing up. As for the rest of the mace, the handle is significantly longer than Mjolnir, but not as long as Stormbreakers. This gives it more of a Sledgehammer like design, compared to Mjolnir, this is a direct upgrade seeing as Mjolnir (when still in Thors hand) was a much more close range oriented weapon. Not only that, but the wrapping around Mjolnirs pommel that was once used to spin the hammer, has been changed to a metal chain (which I believe is much more efficient since any Hammer spinning at that speed wouldn't be held together with a simple leather rope).

As for my opinion on Stormbreaker, its a really bad design. First of all, it looks clunky as hell, the extended hammer head combined with the axe head makes it look imbalanced, like would be heavier on one side than the other. Not only that, but the handle just looks boring and hard to hold, I think the idea of Groot making the handle is good, but this just makes it look like you could never grab it without getting splinters. On top of this, the handle is WAY to long, whenever i see Thors design with Stormbreaker, it just sticks out like sore thumb, the MCUs choreography makes it look slow and heavy, with no interesting moves or special properties. Sure he can throw it and call it back, but its nowhere near as cool when Mjolnir, Captain America's shield, or even the Leviathan axe does it. And while Mjolnir didn't have the best design, it was iconic and what mattered was that Thor used it in interesting ways and attacks, like when he placed Mjolnir in the dragons mouth to restrain it, something Stormbreaker can't do. That's right! Anyone can pick up Stormbreaker! YOU DONT HAVE TO BE WORTHY! The next thing about Stormbreaker is the Bifrost, which I do see it as a good thing for Thor to have, but I just wish it wasn't wasted on such a trash weapon.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the MCU could be done better with Thor after endgame. Who once used to be confident man filled with nobility and love after throwing away his arrogance and pride, is now a painfully unfunny joke of a man who has literally nothing left to lose and who needs to "Find himself". If there was anything good that could've come out of replacing Stormbreaker, would be that Beta Ray Bill could've used it in a future movie. But...oh well

In Infinity War Thor ends up makinga a new wepon (his Axe) but towards the end Groot lifts it in order to make a handle for it. Wouldn't that make Groot worthy of holding the Mjolnir?1

okay hear me out. idk if it’s true but it points very likely to it. recap: thor holds open the eyeris to the neutron star and allows eitri just enough time to melt the uru completely to pour into the mold for stormbreaker. but due to thor not holding the eyeris long enough presumably some of the uru wasn't fully formed and hence the handle wasn't made because it was still in its half-molten state on the mold and hadn't yet had time to mold itself and form the handle. that's the reason given by the russos. but when rewatching i noticed exactly WHERE it happened. on the left of this pic you can see eitri pouring the molten uru from the vat into the mold for stormbreaker. but on the far right, there's another tube from the same vat of molten uru directed to ANOTHER MOLD on the far right, and as i replayed this scene (2s), i noticed that the uru formed fully over the stormbreaker mold (the left mold) but the small stream on the right was half-formed. this is my theory: the mold on the far right with the half-formed uru is actually the mold for stormbreaker's handle, and due to thor not being able to withstand holding the eyeris of a neutron star for so long, the handle was thus unable to fully form and set into the mold and hence when eitri crushed the molds (yes plural, there were two molds crushed, one on screen, one off screen but the sound is heard), only stormbreaker's axe blade had been formed, while the handle was a misshapen shape of half-melted uru. hence stormbreaker's handle was never forged properly and groot used his arm to form the handle to save thor as there was no time (or other ways within that time frame before thor actually dies) to reopen the eyeris and reforge another handle.

Also, when i rewatched it, i noticed that the molten uru was poured into three other molds but the others were never cracked open.

it might be setting up reforging mjolnir for “the mighty thor” jane foster for thor: love and thunder which is confirmed to have jane replace thor with mjolnir. one of those three uncracked pieces could be a reforged mjolnir. what do you think? that’s all for my theory!

something for marvel fans: WHAT IF stormbreaker was shrunk and placed in thanos' ear and enlarged to giant man size? you might argue that stormbreaker would be crushed by the toughness of thanos' skin, but remember that stormbreaker easily cut through thanos' armour and skin like paper in infinity war, and sliced through the full might of all six infinity stones with relative ease.

In the final battle when Thor calls stormbreaker thanos literally holds it in his hand and forces it into thor's chest

Was he worthy? Or I am missing something?

He wouldn’t really make his iconic entrance in Wakanda to defeat Thanos army.
