These are some ideas for how to continue Marc Spector's character arc in the MCU.
Episode 1 - 3
After seeing crime rates increase in their streets, Marc and Steven contemplate on the idea of continuing the mission of Moon Knight without the influence of Khonshu for the sake of helping people and protect the travelers of the night without using the moon god’s brutal vengeance.
At first, Marc hesitates because of his history with Khonshu, but Steven convinces him that Moon Knight can be his second chance at redeeming his life, to atone for his sins by making Moon Knight a protector. A hero rather than what Khonshu wanted Moon Knight to be.
Marc agrees to the idea and they start (or really, restart) the mission. Using the leftover money from his mercenary days, Marc construct a new, white, makeshift and comic accurate suit.
With a new suit and mission in mind, Marc and Steven embark on their journey to protect the travelers of the night. At first, they are rough in their methods, Marc is a good combatant but without Khonshu’s powers, he gets hit quite a bit and when Steven eventually surfaces, he feels the repercussions of the beatings. It's a mess. No coordination and no flow but after a while, they start to get the hang of it. Their skills improve and they start to gain public attention. They start to make headlines in news stations like Daily Bugle. Getting compared to other street level heroes/vigilantes like Daredevil, Spider-Man, and Punisher.
On a personal level, Marc and Steven start to bond more. They start to notice betterment in their lives and their mission. Because of better coordination, they start noticing a good decrease in the crime rate. Moon Knight starts gaining fans and he becomes a symbol of redemption, as he was supposed to be.
Episode 4 - 6
As their mission grows and things start to look positive, a new threat strikes the city — a new Moon Knight appears. An imposter. A new Moon Knight who uses harsh, brutal ways to bring about justice. Using Khonshu’s methods to rain the wrath of the moon.
At first, Marc and Steven try to ignore this new Moon Knight because he also targets criminals but then witnesses start to show up, claiming that this new Moon Knight is taking lives. He is killing criminals and putting even innocent people in danger. But the public doesn’t know it’s a different Moon Knight, so The Bugle turns on Moon Knight and starts to paint him as the villain like Spider-Man. Moon Knight’s heroic reputation plummets down.
Marc and Steven plan to investigate this imposter and capture him to stop the brutal murders. To figure out his identity and way of operation. This is when Mr. Knight, finally, gets a detective status.
While Moon Knight is being seen as a threat, Mr Knight helps Detective Flint, the only cop who trusts Marc and Steven to investigate this new imposter.
Marc and Steven decide to go into the streets to meet the witnesses themselves. This is where we explore the essential side characters like Crawley, Gena and her kids, etc. From their interrogations, they discover that this imposter has a very similar way of operation to theirs. The imposter patrols the same areas they do. They have similar voices and even fighting styles. Though the imposter is much more brutal.
Doubts begin to surface as Steven reminds Marc of their last fight with Harrow. They recall the unsettling pattern of experiencing blackouts during their fights, only to return and discover their opponents lying dead before them.
Episode 7 - 9
We dedicate significant time to Marc and Steven as they delve deeper into their investigation of this figure, steadily progressing towards validating Steven’s skepticism until it finally comes true.
The new Moon Knight is revealed to be Jake Lockley, their third alter still loyal to Khonshu. Marc and Steven are heartbroken at the truth, the murderer they’ve been trying to stop lives in them.
Marc and Steven confront Jake in their inner world, forcing him to reveal why he’s still with Khonshu. Why he’s brutalizing criminals and hurting innocents in the process.
After a prolonged and intense interrogation, Jake discloses that he struck a pact with Khonshu, a pact designed to prevent Khonshu from inhabiting a stronger avatar capable of killing the system and everyone that knows them. Jake’s harsh tactics served as his method of shielding Marc and Steven from Khonshu’s plan.
The theme of redemption returns in the last few episodes. Marc and Steven convince Jake of leaving Khonshu, making him realize that they are stronger together, that Khonshu can’t hurt them.
We get flashbacks to Marc’s childhood and Jake’s birth. We see how Jake has been living in the shadows, behind the scenes all this time, in the guilt that his revelation might hurt the other two alters but in the moments he comes out, his sole purpose is to protect them however he can.
Jake summons Khonshu in their inner world, after a long back-and-forth argument between Jake and Khonshu, he finally decides to leave the moon god. Khonshu tries to retaliate but without an avatar and in their inner world, he gets overpowered — all three alters come together and banish him from their lives.
Becoming strong enough to protect themselves and others around them, the alters finally embrace Moon Knight as the hero they all are.
