I mean filming hasn't started yet, they're still assembling the cast and I think Tom and Zendaya are still working on Odyssey.

Ever since the announcement that Sadie Sink will appear in Spider-Man Brand New Day rumours about her playing MJ flooded the Internet. But honestly how would it make sense that there would be 2 MJs? Also I feel like it would ruin Peter MJ relationship entirely and ruin the ending of No Way Home when he says goodbye to her and all.
I know that Andrew Garfield Spider Man films weren't that great like Tobey and Tom trilogy. Plus it be the 3rd Spider Man film he directs and 1st one he makes from Marvel Studios.
Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, a fragment of Venom from Earth-688B was left behind in Earth-616. Some have speculated that this symbiote will play a role in the upcoming fourth Spider-Man movie. It appears that many believe the symbiote will bond with Peter Parker in this universe and give him the black suit before becoming Venom. While that might happen, here is another idea: What If... The Symbiote went to Michelle Jones?
While the black suit storyline is interesting, this has been done several times before; doing it again in the MCU would be a little repetitive. Moreover, bringing in another variant of Venom to the MCU sounds a little too easy, especially since there is already a movie series for him and Eddie Brock.
Michelle Jones could be a good candidate for a symbiote and this could then be a good way to introduce a new character and amazing story into the MCU. This could then be a way to have Michelle reunite with Peter, though that it just a thought. Other characters in the MCU besides Peter could work too.
Several female symbiotes characters exist in the Marvel multiverse: Scream, Mania, Misery, Silence, Agony, etc. And so, it could be interesting to have one of them appear with MJ and/or someone else. Maybe even gender-bend a male symbiote character which has been done before in MCU and other universes a few times.
Something like this already happened in Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage when a fragment of Venom became Carnage (and a fragment of him was suggested to become Toxin) So it could be interesting to see this happen a third time with Michelle Jones and/or another character.
What are other users thoughts on this? Do you think the fragment of Venom left behind will bond to Peter to become Black Suit/Venom, or should it bond to some other character and become a different symbiote all together? Does Michelle Jones seems like a good candidate for this or would you like it to be another character in the MCU?
My favorites:
- Gamora
- MJ
- Kate Bishop
- Shuri
Does anyone know why MJ’s name is Michelle Jones instead of Mary Jane?
(I know is too soon to talk about season 3 already, but since it has been already confirmed, I would like to share some of my ideas/theories for the episodes)

I’m prepared to catch a bunch of heat for this but I personally don’t want MJ/Zendaya to return in the MCU for future Spider-Man films even though I know it’s inevitable. I don’t think it’s the most logical move story wise… just hear me out.
For one, I wasn’t the biggest MCU Peter/MJ fan. I thought their entire relationship had no build up. It was hinted at a tiny bit in Homecoming with the implication that MJ had a crush on Peter with Peter showing no interest in her at all. Jump to Far From Home where he’s all of a sudden madly in love with her. I know that’s how high school crushes work but I felt this was the writers forcing us to root for them and accept their relationship automatically because it’s Peter and MJ. They didn’t think we needed to see any build up or progression. It was lazy writing plain and simple. What would have worked better would be Peter wanting to spend his vacation with Ned as “eligible bachelors” and have instances that force Peter to interact with MJ even though he doesn’t want to. Then by the end of the film he realizes he actually likes her. But that’s another discussion. I’m going on a tangent.
Their entire relationship is a high school fling, there’s no denying that. They started dating at the end of Far From Home which takes place in the summer, so June or July, and No Way Home takes place in November that same year. They dated for 5 months max. I’m not trying to discredit high school relationships but nothing I saw from MCU Peter/MJ screams “true love”.
No Way Home’s ending is both beautiful and poetic because it’s Peter finally accepting Spider-Man and sacrificing his happiness for the well being of others. It finally feels like the Spider-Man I know and love from the comics.
Here’s my issue with her inevitable return. For one, I personally feel like it would cheapen No Way Home’s ending. Y’all are gonna dispute that by saying “if it’s done right it won’t” or “the ending implied she’s going to figure it out anyways.” No matter how soon or how it happens it’s undoing Peter’s big boy sacrifice at the end of the movie. In comics, Spider-Man always experiences loss and sacrifice, it’s what comes with the job. Peter is finally experiencing consequences for his actions and it should stick. I know he probably won’t be the one to initiate the reconnection but logically it just doesn’t make sense. MJ is living her life in Boston. She’s safe, she’s happy, she’s living her life. The contradiction to that point would be her not ever being happy without Peter in her life or that she feels something is missing. I’ll talk about this a little later.
A large reason why MJ’s return is inevitable is because she’s played by Zendaya. She has a large following which means more money for Sony and Marvel. She’s also dating Tom Holland and they have the most famous relationship in Hollywood right now. But what does that have to do with their characters? Peter Parker isn’t Tom Holland and MJ isn’t Zendaya. Separate artist from art. I find that really irritating and annoying as a Spider-Man fan. I did say at the beginning of this post I don’t think it’s a smart move STORY wise not money wise. Money wise they’ll bring in a heck of a lot of money, but story wise it cheapens a lot. I feel that’s a lot of the reason why “fans” want them back.
Y’all’s next argument is going to be that she’s “MJ Watson” and she and Peter always end up together. Since when has the MCU ever cared about comic accuracy before? In the comics Pepper Potts is married to Happy Hogan not Tony Stark. A bunch of the MCU couples either aren’t together in comics and are in the MCU and vice versa. It’s okay to explore a different love interest for Peter in the new trilogy and have them be the ultimate endgame. We’ve seen Peter/MJ before in the Raimiverse, it’s okay to see something new this time round.
Even though I’m not a fan of their relationship, their goodbye in No Way Home was so beautiful. Peter is showing her the ultimate sign of true love by prioritizing her safety and wellbeing over their happiness. It’s a poetic ending to their story.
She served her purpose. It’s time for a new chapter in Peter’s life. Y’all’s next argument is gonna be “you’re contradicting yourself by saying he should find a new love interest but shouldn’t reconnect with MJ because it’ll put her in danger, wouldn’t he be endangering someone else?” I didn’t say Peter should automatically welcome someone else with open arms. Peter’s entire arc in the new trilogy should be him pushing people away and slowly learning to let them back in. I think Kate Bishop or Ava Ayala would be a good choice to help explore this arc. Someone else who can take care of herself because she also is a part of that life.
We saw how bittersweet the “letting go” trope is in the MCU. Strange and Christine. Quill and Gamora. There’s something very beautiful about setting aside your own self interest for the sake of the others.
Each MCU hero has a heartbreaking story when it comes to their love life but it doesn’t make it any less satisfying.
Here’s where it doesn’t make sense to me logically. Logically, you’re telling me she is able to overcome a spell not even the Sorcerer Supreme himself can because it’s “true love?” C’mon… it was a 4 month long relationship… That would be so cringe. On the other hand, I don’t see an instance where Peter changes his mind and reconnects with her. There’s no logical reason why they would ever have to interact again. Peter stays away plain and simple. He can watch her from afar and yearn and reminisce but never act upon it. MJ, logically, should go on and live her life in Boston and that’s that.
My ideal scenario would be Zendaya returning for a small cameo in Spider-Man 4.
Have a scene where Peter’s watching her from on top of a building either closing up the coffee shop on her last shift before moving to Boston or saying goodbye to her parents as she’s leaving for college. Maybe even a scene where her and Ned are shown hanging out with new friends. It would serve as a reminder of what Peter sacrificed and why he did it. It would hit so hard. Then that’s it for her character.
Look, I know her return is inevitable. It’s gonna happen whether I like it or not. Amy Pascal has already expressed interest in wanting her back in Spider-Man 4 (my guess is for $). I just hope they do it in a way that doesn’t completely undermine No Way Home and Peter’s arc. There’s nothing wrong with letting someone go, there’s nothing wrong with moving on and meeting new people. There’s dozens of other characters they can explore from the comics that haven’t had their time on the big screen but of course they’re going to ignore them for the sake of “fan” service. I’m a Spider-Man fan, not a Tomdaya fan. Smh.
Because I Personally say No because then what was the point of the ending in No Way Home? The whole point of NWH’s ending was for Peter to at least try to create a life for himself that doesn’t revolve around them, or frankly even anything from before he met Mysterio. For goodness sake, they killed off May. They’ve got to let the consequences of Peter’s decision sink in for a movie at the very least.
‘But Tornado, they brought back all of the Avengers after one movie!’
Yes, because the MCU actively revolved around them. You can’t run a franchise without half of its main characters. Meanwhile, Spider-Man has never been that dependent on MJ. Is she his most famous supporting character? Without a shadow of a doubt. However, she’s never been involved in every single stage of his life. They didn’t even meet until university in the comics.
‘But Tornado, Zendaya’s too bankable for Sony to pass up on!’
Sony has its own agenda, but sure, it’s not as if they’ve been trying to get a Black Cat movie off the ground for years? Granted, there’s a difference between that and making her an MCU character, but we can cross that bridge once we arrive at it. There are also a whole host of love interests from the wider universe that Peter’s had. I’d personally like to see him have a crush on Olivia Holt’s Tandy Bowen for a movie.
Also, the Russos killed off Black Widow in Endgame. It wasn’t ScarJo’s decision, it was Marvel’s. This is evident in the fact that development for Nat’s solo movie began two years prior. They’ve already set a precedent for killing off major actresses at the peak of their popularity. Surely it’s not inconceivable that they just take a break from another for one movie when there’s so much else that they can cover in the meantime?
So when I was searching through the gallery of our wiki I've seen some HD screenshots from Spider-Man: No Way Home and as far as I can tell they're not in any TV spot/promotion video. Is the movie already released somewhere? And if the movie is not already released, from which TV spot does it come? Pls send a link from the TV spot/promotional video!
Here are some examples from the screenshots I'm talking about, and I'm so thankful to the person who added those!
These are just some of the cool screenshots from Spider-Man: No Way Home. and I really can't wait for the rest of it to release next week somewhere!
Edit: Can somebody maybe share a HD version of the deleted scene picture with the villains, Peter and May in the elevator, I really need that screenshot!
So in this scene in No Way Home you can see that the Sling Ring Andrew's coming through from the alley into the house of Ned's Lola stays open for a while before closing. So I thought of a funny scene referencing the deleted scene with Harry Holland, here it comes.
While Ned and MJ are talking to Andrew you can see behind the sling ring a purse thief stealing the bag of an old lady and running through the Sling Ring into the house of Ned's Lola. Andrew comes to action and webs the purse thief on the ceiling of the house. But because this sealing is not so strong as a street light, the thief falls of the ceiling and runs back through the portal and then it closes. This causes MJ to start trusting Andrew.
Do you guys like it, because I do! Let me know in the reactions!
Is there any possibility for some people to remember Peter like Thor, Wanda (as she was in the hex), Fury (the real one) and MJ (as we read on the script? Comment what do you think below!
I was sad that MJ doesn’t remember Peter at the end of no way home.
Michelle has no official last name. Jones is just a widely accepted head canon. There are no official sources or press saying her name is Michelle Jones. We don't even know what her last name is. On her passport, her name just reads "Michelle" with no last name. Her signature reads Michelle J. This proves that her name isn't officially Michelle Jones. I think her page on the wiki should be changed to just "Michelle" since her Jones is just her headcanon last name.
Continuing the "Scene Discussion" is the moment where MJ reveals to Peter she knows he is Spider-Man, much to his shock
Let's discuss! How do you feel about this? Where do you hope they take Peter and MJ's relationship next? How do you feel about how MJ has been portrayed in the MCU?
Leave your thoughts on this down below, and make sure to leave any suggestions of scenes that you would like to discuss in future posts.
Spider-Man 3 is scheduled to be released on July 16, 2021, and we still don't know anything about the film other than it will deal with Peter being on the run after Mysterio framed him for murder and revealed his identity to the public. There's been rumors about what the film could be doing and who might be appearing in it, but nothing is concrete. This gives me the opportunity to address the top 10 things that I would like to see in the 3rd installment of the MCU Spider-Man trilogy.
10. A darker tone
One of the things I love about the MCU Spider-Man films is that it blends high school comedy and superhero action and gives us films that are both funny and badass. FFH is probably the most fun I had watching a Spider-Man movie in a while (besides ITSV), but in the case of Spider-Man 3, I think it's best if the film went for a more serious tone. Now, don't get me wrong, I still want to see humor in this film, as it's my favorite aspect of the Spider-Man movies, but with Peter going on the run and fighting for his freedom, innocence, and life, this calls for a more drastic and dramatic/serious tone. Almost like The Winter Soldier or Black Panther or Doctor Strange.
9. A more harden/mature Peter Parker
One of the complaints that MCU Peter Parker has gotten from fans is that he's too nice, gullible, naive, and immature, even for a teenager. Some fans also think that he's too trusting, like when he trust Mysterio enough to give him EDITH after knowing him for two days. I, personally, don't have these problems with Peter, but some do. So, for Spider-Man 3, we need to see Peter Parker complete his journey of a boy becoming a man. We need to see a Peter Parker who's less trusting of people since Mysterio betrayed him. A Peter Parker who's more hesitant to dawn the red and blue suit and starts seeing it as a curse. A Peter Parker who will try to push people out of his life in order to keep them safe and to prevent people from getting the better of him again. A Peter who is willing to get more aggressive if the situation calls for it. Spider-Man needs to feel less of a thrill for Peter and more of a hindrance for him.
8. Kraven the Hunter should be the villain
With the world hunting Peter down, it's obvious that Peter needs to stay out of sight in order for him, his friends, and Aunt May to be safe. Because of this, we need a villain that will challenge Peter on both a physical and psychological scale. Someone that will push him to his absolute limit. We need Kraven the Hunter. Kraven hunting down Peter would make for the perfect on-the-run story that I hope Marvel and Sony go for in Spider-Man 3. You can take elements from both the 616 and Ultimate versions of Kraven and use them for the MCU version. A famous hunter after Spider-Man's bounty, recording his every move for the world to see as he takes down his biggest prey. We could even see Kraven attack, threaten, or capture somebody important to Peter to draw him out, like Aunt May, or Ned, or MJ. Maybe take some elements from Kraven's Last Hunt, including the image of him burying Peter alive. That would be intense.
7, Set up the Sinister Six
I don't think that the Sinister Six should be the main villains of the movie, but I do want to see the movie set up the team for future Spider-Man movies. We already have a list of worthy candidates (Vulture, Shocker, Scorpion, Mysterio, Chameleon). We could get some settle hints of other villains looking to come after Spider-Man, like Doc Ock or Sandman or Electro or Jackal or Rhino. Who knows how many villains Spider-Man defeated off-screen? The possibilities are endless. In fact, my next post will be about my personal wish list for the MCU's Sinister Six.
6. A more personal story/Reduce the MCU's influence
Some fans have complained that the MCU has had too much of an influence over the Spider-Man films so far. With stuff like Iron Man, the Avengers, the Chitauri, the Battle of New York, Infinity War, Endgame, and the countless Easter eggs and references to major MCU events and items, some people feel like Homecoming and Far From Home aren't even MCU Spider-Man films, but MCU films with Spider-Man in it. Personally, I don't agree, but for Spider-Man 3, with the Iron Man relationship and the Infinity Saga over, it's time to take Peter back to his original roots. Which means that however Peter solves this problem, the MCU should take a bit of a back seat. Make this a more self-contained story like Black Panther or Doctor Strange, films that rely less on the influence of the MCU and can more or less stand out on their own. Peter needs to solve his problems without the help of Iron Man, the Avengers, or S.H.I.E.L.D. to back him up. Now, obviously, it should feel like it's still in the MCU and should have some MCU references, but the references should matter to the plot of the story. More or less, this story needs to be independent from the MCU and needs to focus on Peter relying on his own gear, as well as his own abilities. Oh, and while I love all 5 of his suits, let's not make the next one from Stark tech, less we hear that stupid "Iron Man Jr." nickname again.
5. J. Jonah Jameson needs to have a big role
J.K. Simmons reprising his role as J. Jonah Jameson in FFH brought Spider-Man fans (especially Raimi fans) to tears. Now that he and the Daily Bugle exist in the MCU, it's the perfect time to show how the former newspaper company will factor into the story of Spider-Man 3. Jameson has clearly started a smear campaign on Spider-Man as he believes that he is a menace and that Mysterio was the true hero in FFH. So, this could be a good opportunity to have him serve as a potential threat or foil to Peter Parker and Spider-Man. In the comics, it was actually jolly Jameson himself who funded Mac Gargan's transformation into the Scorpion and serve as the "Anti Spider-Man". And Mac Gargan still has a bone to pick with Spider-Man after the events of Homecoming. So, he could pay for Gargan's operation to become Scorpion and hire him to work with Kraven in order to capture Spider-Man. This would also allow for Marvel and Sony to further set up his recruitment into the Sinister Six if it happens.
4. Expand the backstory of the side characters
The characters in the Spider-Man films have been great. Ned, Aunt May, MJ, Betty, Flash. They bring a lot of fun and energy into this franchise. But, unfortunately, they aren't given a whole lot to do in the films. For Spider-Man 3, we need to explore the characters more. We need to see how Aunt May is dealing with Peter being hunted down. We need to explore more of her past and see the moment after she found out Peter's identity and how see dealt with it. We need to see the type of fear and horror she could be expressing knowing that Peter is in danger. And how she even dealt with Peter being Spider-Man in the first place. For Flash, we need to explore his personal life. It's been established in FFH that he currently has issues with his parents, as they didn't speak to him the majority of the trip in FFH, and didn't even pick him up at the airport. We need to see what causes Flash to act like a dick to Peter Parker all the time. For Ned, we need to see how he's dealing with Peter being a fugitive. We need to see if he and Betty's relationship will take a step further than it did in FFH. Maybe they comfort each other out of fear for Peter's safety and their own, and they get closer and closer and become a more serious couple. And as for MJ, we need to explore her personal life. The writers hinted that she has some issues with her parents, similar to how in the comics, MJ had a bad relationship with her father. Now MCU MJ is different from comic book MJ, but it's clear that she's meant to be the MCU version of the character, so let's take some Mary Jane elements from the comics and use them for Michelle Jones. Let's see how she's dealing with Peter being on the run. Does it cause them to break up due to Peter fearing for her safety? Also, dye her hair red. Please, Zendaya looks amazing with red hair.
3. Set up Oscorp and future Spider-Man characters/stories
Even though Spider-Man 3 will conclude the Homecoming trilogy, it won't conclude Spider-Man's story in the MCU. Disney and Sony can easily sign a new deal to extend Spidey's stay at Marvel, and he does have one more appearance after SM3. So, let's use this opportunity to set up future stories for the wall-crawler. For starters, Oscorp needs to serve as one of the next big bads of the MCU. Norman Osborn is basically the evil Tony Stark, all the power and intelligence but no heart. Oscorp could be a massive threat to both Spider-Man and other heroes like the Avengers. He could potentially fund the Sinister Six behind the scenes, as well as set up the evil counterpart for the Avengers: the Dark Avengers. The Iron Patriot armor is still around, so I could see Norman operating as the evil Iron Man when he's not running Oscorp or dressing up as a goblin and throwing pumpkin bombs. Also, it could finally confirm the theory that Avengers Tower will become Oscorp, something I will address in another post. You could potentially set up Norman as a post-credits scene, or in a small cameo role in Spider-Man 3, probably at the end of the movie to set up the Sinister Six again.
2. A major death needs to happen to permanently affect Peter Parker
Death has always been a staple in Peter Parker's life. It's sad but it's true (his parents, Uncle Ben, Gwen Stacy, Aunt May in Spider-Man PS4 and ITSV, and even Tony Stark in the MCU) Peter, unfortunately, loses people he cares about a lot, and it's always affected him in some way. Now, Homecoming and Far From Home haven't really dealt with the consequences of death before due to Spider-Man not really facing situations where somebody died because of him or he was unable to save someone in time. In Spider-Man 3, let's change that factor. Let's put Peter in a position where somebody has died because of something that Peter Parker directly or indirectly caused. Like somebody getting in the crossfire of a fight, or Peter fails to save someone in time, or Kraven or Scorpion kill somebody just to draw Spider-Man out. Now, obviously, it could just be a random person that became an unlucky victim, but I think we need to go bigger than that. This death needs to be personal; somebody close to Peter Parker has to die in order to raise the stakes and scar him for life. And after looking through the list of characters of who it could be, there's only one clear conclusion: Ned has to die. I know, it's terrible for me to even say that, and I love Ned, he's a awesome guy. But, MJ, Aunt May, and Betty, I see them having potential futures in the MCU. Peter can't use Aunt May at such a young age, especially since she's young herself. MJ has a lot of potential as a character in the MCU, if we explore her past more. And Betty needs to work for the Bugle. As for Ned, he's not turning into Hobgoblin, Oscorp could be joining the MCU, which means that Harry Osborn could show up, and a love triangle bromance between Peter, Harry, and Ned would be kinda weird. Really, I don't see Ned being a lasting character in the MCU. So, him dying makes sense, especially since it'll scar Peter on a personal and emotional level, seeing his best friend be killed because of him. This could cause Peter to become more hesitant to trust or befriend anyone in fear of them getting hurt or killed because of him. And if Harry does join, and he and Peter become friends. we could see Peter be less likely to tell Harry that he's Spider-Man in fear of him sharing the same fate as Ned if he got mixed up in Spider-Man's life. So, yeah, while it pains me to say this, I think that Ned should die in Spider-Man 3 in order to raise the stakes for Peter and cause him to be more hesitant on bringing people along in his life as Spider-Man.
1. Uncle Ben
This is the big one here, people. This is probably the biggest issue/complaint that we've gotten from fans about the MCU Spider-Man. Ever since Civil War, the biggest question on everyone's mind was "What happened to Uncle Ben?" Why doesn't Marvel mention Ben take much other than 3 indirect references to the character? Why haven't we gotten a direct reference, like a namedrop? Or "With great power comes great responsibility"? Why did Marvel not put Uncle Ben in Homecoming or FFH? Well, the answer to that is simple. Because we already had two live action film franchises by Sony which have shown the origin story twice, and have Uncle Ben be prominent figures to Peter Parker, fans decided that, for the MCU, it's best to skip the origin story and just go straight to Spider-Man. And Jon Watts and Kevin Feige has stated that, if Uncle Ben is to be a part of the story to the MCU Spider-Man films, he can't just be a simple reference or a quick namedrop. He has to have a important and prominent role to the story and to Peter Parker. And at the time, Uncle Ben wasn't important to the story yet, but he wasn't forgotten. Though this made the false accusation that Tony Stark (since he was Peter's mentor in Civil War, Homecoming, Infinity War, and Endgame) was replacing Uncle Ben, or became Uncle Ben 2.0. But that was never the case. The focus was on Spider-Man and his involvement in Phase 3, Infinity War, and the Infinity Saga. But, the Saga has ended now, which gives Marvel the opportunity to factor Uncle Ben into the plot of the story and have him play an important role in Peter's life again. Uncle Ben needs to physically appear in some way in the story (a flashback, a family photo, a voice-over, Peter's thoughts and memories, even Peter's dream). We need to see Uncle Ben play a role in Peter's life again and see him guide Peter in his path as a superhero. Hell, we should see the scene where Ben gets shot. And most importantly, Uncle Ben should be played by the original Spider-Man himself, Tobey Maguire. Tobey being Uncle Ben could serve as a metaphorical passing-the-torch to Tom Holland/Peter Parker, as it symbolically has the old Spider-Man pass the mantle to the new Spider-Man. This gives Raimi fans a chance to see Tobey in a Spider-Man movie again, and it will finally give Uncle Ben a prominent role again in a Spider-Man movie.
