Marvel Zombies

Thor is one of the last surviving Avengers in "Marvel Zombies." His fate has been a topic of interest for many since Episode 5, "What If...?", so I personally rejoiced at his appearance in Episode 3. And yet... even despite his death in Episode 4, Thor left many questions unanswered. Perhaps this theory is already useless, or perhaps it will play a role in "Doomsday." Warning: spoilers ahead.

So, first, let's recall perhaps the most controversial moment: Stormbreaker's destruction by Thanos. In Infinity War, Thanos, with all 6 stones, couldn't even scratch the Stormbreaker, but in Marvel Zombies, he had enough of the Power Stone to destroy the legendary Asgardian weapon. Stormbreaker is the key to this theory.

As we know from Thor: Love and Thunder, Stormbreaker is sentient—he/she was jealous of Thor's love for Mjolnir and even stopped listening to Thor. Therefore, Stormbreaker is sentient. Even if the mind isn't magical, it could be a result of Stormbreaker's hilt being created by Groot. So, if Stormbreaker disobeyed Thor because he loved Mjolnir, then Mjolnir isn't there, and therefore Stormbreaker obeys Thor. Perhaps when Thanos unleashed the Power Stone's energy, destroying Groot and Rocket, Thor survived because Stormbreaker's... passed on his power to him!

Stormbreaker, wanting to protect his master, gave him all of his magical properties, and therefore, when Spider-Man threw Stormbreaker at Thanos, he easily incinerated Stormbreaker even with one stone.

But it didn't stop there—after the stones exploded in Wakanda, we weren't told or shown how Thor survived. Most likely, the god of thunder, having acquired Stormbreaker's properties, became completely immune to the stones' energy. The battle between Thor and Wanda in Episode 3 could serve as evidence of this. When Thor and Wanda collided, an explosion occurred, revealing glimpses of the stones' energy. Perhaps it was by taking this "property" from Thor that Wanda was able to recreate Stormbreaker. I'll conclude with a modified quote from Odin: "Stormbreaker is not a weapon, it is the power within the weapon."

Hello everyone I want to speculate on the topic of the absence of certain characters. I will be glad for additions or correct criticism) warning: Everything else is just my theories.

1. Nick Fury- I had a question about Nick's absence since "What If...?", but it still remained unresolved. In Infinity War, and it is at this time that zombification begins, Nick must be in London. Perhaps Nick is still alive, or he died during the release of the energy of the infinity stones.

2. Bucky- well, he's probably alive, because according to rumors, he's supposed to be in the second season. Let me just remind you that he probably survived the events of "What If...?"

3. Korg and Mieck- I had a question after watching the third episode. There were only Asgardians in New Asgard, but no sign of the Sakaar rebels. There's a theory that Korg was secretly killed by Wanda, as he has immunity to zombification due to his lack of a limbic system. And Mieck... I don't know, there's no mention of this arthropod with blades, but I hope he's still alive.

4. War Machine- I surprised that no one (or I just didn't see) in the community was interested in the fate of one of the Avengers. There are a lot of questions about Rhodey, and questions need answers. Do you think War Machine is alive?

5. Guardians of the Galaxy (except for Rocket and Groot)- let's be logical- Thanos have the Soul Stone, so Gamora is dead. You know about Rocket and Groot, but the others... are probably alive. Quill is also credited for Season 2, so they're still alive.

6. Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight - we are well aware of the fate of both Thanos and Ebony Maw with Kull Obsidian. However, we do not know anything about Corvus and Proxima. As we remember, they had the task of getting the mind stone from Vision. Perhaps Vision was able to kill them and/or feed them to Wanda.

7. Sif, Kraglin, Gorr, Adam Warlock and other space heroes- they are alive, because the virus is still only on earth. It's like with the Guardians. (I believe that even if Gorr had already attacked Sif, she would have survived without Thor's help)

8. M'Baku and Shuri - these Wakandans were never found in the crowds of zombie Wakandans in the 3rd series. If Shuri could die, then M'Baku clearly survived it... but most likely, due to the energy of the Infinity Stones, they both died.

9. The Eternals (except for Ikaris)- we know the fate of Ikaris from the 1st series, but we don't know about the others. It's possible that Ikaris killed the other Eternals, as he proved that Eternals are immune to the zombie virus.

10. Deviants- the same question. However, there is an explanation, because the deviants began to awaken when Tiamut awakened, and given the small population of the Earth, the deviants remained in the ice.

11. The sentry- we don't think about him, as he is also assigned to the second season.

12. Agatha Harkness- she was most likely killed by Wanda, as she would have tried to take her power, and Wanda is much stronger and would not have hesitated. However, there is a theory that Agatha is the key character to defeat Wanda...

13. Taskmaster, Daredevil, the Defenders, and Elektra are unknown and have not been shown to us, but they may still be alive.

14. Quentin Beck is probably alive, but he probably doesn't have his own drones. What do you think? Which characters have I forgotten? Or do you have any theories about the status of any of the above characters? I'd love to hear from you.

While there are a lot of characters in mcu especially in the main continunity, but there are certain characters who aren't in what if series at all.

Quicksilver is barely in any of the episodes, just why

Same thing goes for Vulture, since Season 3 uses Mysterio and Season 1 uses spider-man. it was very confusing why there isn't any spider-man focused story

Even though Zemo is in Marvel Zombies, I am still confused why Zemo is absent in What if...? a zemo focused episode will be good.

If we consider the defenders.... yeah they aren't in any of the episodes

Where is abomination?

Where is Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo? just where?

Personally I think it's a mistake to place Marvel Zombies after What If Season 1, I understand why they put it there but they don't explain how she returned to her Universe after that attack of Ultron Infinity

At least in Season 2 we don't find out that she survived and it's Kahhori who sends her back to her Universe, also in the chronological location to see the series you are presented with many characters from Phase 4 which you do not know for that point

For me, you should place the Miniseries or recommend watching it after Season 2 of What If as it would fit better and for that point you would already know all the characters that you are presented, if they approve a Season 2 as things would also change but that is not yet confirmed

Many people, including me, liked the marvel zombies show. Having a superhero universe dealing with a zombie apocalypse is pretty crazy concept, especially with some superheroes being turned into some but maybe some shouldn’t have. I know fight monsters that turn people into more is a lot to deal for any marvel hero but zombies can’t only do that if they bite them which is no problem for some heroes. Like we saw in zombie episode of what if…, when zombie Wanda try to bite Banner he partly transformed into hulk and his invulnerability stop bite from infecting him. Even though most marvel heroes don’t have same invulnerability as Hulk they do have some level of vulnerability you think zombies couldn’t bite through. These heroes or characters would include (Abomination, Captain Marvel, Namor, and Thanos). Sure if some superhero’s got turned zombie and probably affect other heroes, but that was nearing the end of the marvel zombies and characters I mentioned already turned into zombies. I think they just turned a lot of characters into zombies for the plot, what are your thoughts?

Do you think that the Watcher/Uatu could appear again in Marvel Zombies?

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to his Disney+ in less than a month, yet for whatever reason it has no trailer, I am no marketing expert but considering its debuting in less than 3 weeks I should ask where the heck is the trailer. Same goes for Eyes of Wakanda assuming they shove it in December a trailer for that should be coming out too. That was my first two questions. My second one is can we get a Doctor Strange 3 page, I think it's confirmed at this point and they just haven't said anything. Also one more thing anybody thing Marvel Zombies is delayed to 2025. That's all my current schedule thank you.

Okay this has bothered many people and that's the lack of a release date for Marvel Zombies and Eyes of Wakanda. My best guess before we knew how long Agatha All Along was going to go on for was Marvel Zombies releasing this month it's only 4 episodes and could honestly release all at once Netflix style. Also Zombies are horror and go well with Halloween, missed opportunity if you ask me though they could pull a last minute suprise and throw it on Disney+ a week or two after Agatha All Along is done. Eyes of Wakanda being thrown in December would be the only viable option I could think of because Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man comes out on November 2nd. Either way I just wish we knew if that 2024 release date was still true or not.

Brad Winderbaum opened the panel by saying that every animated project will have its own unique animation style rather than following a default style. A sizzle reel of all the upcoming projects was shown. This is described below.

X-Men '97 season 2

The entire audience hummed the theme tune as Cal Dodd (Wolverine) and Lenore Zann (Rogue) took the stage. Zann said that Rogue is on a heroes' journey in season 2 and that she won't stop until she gets what she wants. A sizzle reel was shown that confirmed the team would wear the suits from the Grant Morrison New X-Men run. Havok, Polaris, Bishop, Apocalypse, Danger and Marikov will appear.

What If...? season 3

This is the final season of What If...? and will end the Watcher's arc. Bryan Andrews (Director and Executive Producer) said they will take big swings and explore more genres in this season, including a Western. The sizzle reel showed Moon Knight, Ironheart, Shang-Chi and White Vision. Exclusive footage: Sam Wilson / Captain America leads a team of Avengers (including Red Guardian, Melina, Moon Knight, Monica Rambeau and more) in mech suits fighting Gamma Monsters. Sam says 'Avengers assemble!'

Eyes of Wakanda

Todd Harris (Creator) and Ryan Coogler (Producer) revealed the logo for the series. Harris jokes that everyone in Wakanda has a 6-pack and can kill anyone. The show will follow War Dogs throughout the history of Wakanda. It is a 4-episode anthology series. An Iron Fist will appear. A new character called Nomi is a disruptor and is trying to show Wakandans how corrupt they are. The sizzle reel showcased beautiful 3D animation.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Hudson Thames will reprise his role as Peter Parker from What If...? and Norman Osborn will be voiced by Colman Domingo. Jeff Trammel (Head Writer) says that the 'what if moment' is that Peter comes home to meet Norman Osborn instead of Tony Stark. Exclusive footage: After this information, exclusive footage of the series was shown. D23 attendees were able to see an animated intro that used the classic Spider-Man theme song before it morphs into a modern rap song. The preview then depicts Peter’s first day of Freshman Year. His arrival at school is immediately interrupted by Doctor Strange fighting a monster that looks a lot like Venom. One of Strange’s portals leads to a radioactive spider from the Venom monster’s universe landing on Peter and biting him as he is meeting Nico Minoru, a character for The Runaways series of comics. The animation style is very comic-book-inspired with cell animation, with shots split into comic panels to evoke the feeling of reading a comic. There was another scene shown from the series that takes place 5 months after, depicting Peter taking down street-level thugs with advanced tech. One of them is a boy who has metallic booths that give him short bursts of super speed. Another of them is a woman with a cyber blade. Peter, wearing a proto-type suit similar to the one seen in Homecoming but slightly different, is struggling to fight the thugs. However, Norman Osborn rings him on his comms and gives him advice on how to stop the thugs. The footage highlights Norman’s mentor relationship with Peter and the fatherly bond that is developing there. With Norman’s advice, Peter stops the thugs.

Marvel Zombies

TV-MA 4-episode sequel to What If...? episode 5. Exclusive footage: Begins with Shang-Chi, Katy, and Jimmy Woo in the middle of the street fighting zombies. They begin to get overrun until the Mandarin shows up and starts fighting the zombies with the Ten Rings. A particular stand-out moment akin to Attack on Titan is a kaiju0like zombie that the Mandarin kills by throwing the rings at the center of its forehead in a bloody sequence. The Mandarin tells Shangi Chi to leave the civilians and run with him until Shang-Chi is bitten by one of the zombies. The virus begins to progress up his arm. The Mandarin sacrifices himself by transferring the rings to Shang-Chi, who is then taken by the Death Dealer. He picks them up in a helicopter before this scene ends. The footage cuts to 5 years later, with Shang-Chi and the same group of characters in the wasteland in vehicles that look like something from a Mad Max film. They’re being chased by a Skrull Biker gang, and the footage highlights an action set-piece as they fight the Skrulls with the Ten Rings. It’s a more light-hearted set-piece set to the song “Lights” by Journey, with them taking the Skrull bikers out while Jimmy Woo sings along to the song. Unfortunately, the series was announced as not coming out “for a while.”
