Marvel What if...?:
WHY IS IT DIFFERENT???
"You know why we're here."
"Of course, but if I may ask, why not keep it secure in your own vault?"
"The Tesseract is already on Asgard. It is not wise to keep two Infinity Stones so close together."
The question here is not why, but where.
The Asgardians decided to separate two infinity stones for safe keeping of each one. That's fine. But why did they go to the Collector? He's not even a good guy (much more obvious in comics). And it didn't make the stone safer in his hand. Thanos got it without trouble. It was so easy that its process was skipped. Was there no better place can go in galaxy, like really? And, it seems it didn't bother Asgardians that Earth had more stones at same time for a while.
out of all of the infinity stones in the MCU, only the reality stone (the Æther) and the power stone are extremely dangerous to touch. i have a theory about the power stone’s original container; specifically the Orb. (not the second Orb seen in the end of GOTG vol 1) The Orb is an ancient artifact predating the universe’s creation in conjunction with the creation of the six infinity stones. it housed the power stone, the most physically dangerous stone of the six. (the purple one 🟣) The Orb is one of the only artifacts able to contain the power stone’s power effectively without the said container or medium falling apart or disintegrating at a molecular level due to the power stone’s nature. Ronan’s weapon of choice could have possibly contained the power stone, but we haven’t seen the long term effects on the said weapon. same for the infinity gauntlet and the nano-gauntlet. so with that out of the way, we can say that the Orb is the only artifact that we currently know of in the MCU capable of concealing and containing all of the power stone’s power without leakage and has withstood the test of time. (keyword: ancient) (it also works via a series of complicated concentric locks)
the Orb however seems to have a ton of holes and indents over the surface and the inside of the Orb is slightly visible through some of the holes. my theory is that over the course of millions if not billions of millennia, the power stone eroded the Orb and slowly ate through the container. despite the Orb being the only currently known artifact capable of withholding the power stone’s power 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, the power stone was too much for the container and slowly eroded and compromised the structural integrity of the Orb over billions of millennia. hence why it has so many holes and indents on the surface. that’s all for my theory; do feel free to leave your thoughts below!
Does anyone realize how many characters the Collector had killed in episode 2 of What If? Here are the ones I saw:
Captain America
Thor
Malekith
Korg
Hela
There are way more too, those are just the ones from the weapons case.
I just watched a video of "All the Facts" of Guardians of the Galaxy uploaded by Disney Plus on the YouTube channel where they say that in a part of the Collector's museum is the Reality Stone (last seen in Thor: The Dark World), and I think no one had noticed it before, here is the exact moment in which they say it (4:53):

1. In Infinity War we see Thanos torturing The Collector but it turns out to be an illusion of the reality stone. That means the Collector was gone by the time the Guardians got there. So my first question is : "Where is The Collector?"
2. My second question is "Are Grandmaster and Collector related to each other (Brothers) as shown in the comics?"
The Collector is a intergalatic buyer who appears in the MCU in the Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1, Thor the Dark world and Infinity war.
Lady sif and volstagg gave the Collector the reality stone (for safe keeping) and the guardians almost gave away the power stone to him realizing how powerful it is.
In infinity war Thanos takes the reality stone from the collector giving him three infinity stones.
So my question is what if the Collector collected all six infinity stones ?
Would he use it to collect worlds as his own ?
Or a display it with the rest of his collection ?
