It should be noted in the Behind-the-Scenes section of Steve Rogers' article here that Chris Evans taking on the mantle of the character here in the M.C.U. is the fourth live-action portrayal of Captain America, following Dick Purcell in the 1944 serial Captain America (to which the part where Steve films a film in Captain America: The First Avenger nods to, but whose name was changed to District Attorney Grant Gardner for that film), Reb Brown in both Captain America in 1979 and its immediate follow-up Captain America II: Death Too Soon released that same year, and Matt Salinger in Captain America in 1990. Though I think we can all agree that Chris Evans was the best Captain America live-action actor, right?
