New details on how Shang-Chi connects to the Mandarin...and what Awkwafina's role might be in the film! Check this out!
According to the article, Awkwafina plays Fah Lo Suee. In the comics, she is Shang-Chi's sister, but according to the rumor she is actually the Mandarin's daughter, and Shang-Chi's love interest, which could tie Shang-Chi in with the Mandarin. These plot details also suggest that the Mandarin will have a very long history with Shang-Chi, saying that the Mandarin ran a orphanage for children with special gifts, which is where Shang-Chi was raised. This could connect the three characters, who are in the main characters in the film, very much, maybe even make the Mandarin a father figure to Shang-Chi? Well, thirteen years after we first saw the Ten Rings in Iron Man (and six after we last saw them in Ant-Man) it is nice for us to finally get our very infamous terrorist group back in the MCU. More so, I personally can't wait for more details to come- as some recent set videos hinted that the film might actually be set in 2020- a time period currently unexplored in the MCU, and like so up until 2023. I mean, we have seen post-snap media, including the majority of Runaways S3 in late 2018 and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S6 in 2019, but neither of these dealt with the snap at all. Shang-Chi can hopefully get a focus and a grip on what life was like in these times (and we can hope that they didn't have coronavirus!). We have 364 days until we can see any of them on the big screen, so I guess we just have to wait and see!
