Did anyone else notice that in Thunderbolts they were still remodeling Avengers Tower in 2027, yet the building was already remodeled back in Spider-Man Far From Home which was about 2024?

^^The remodeling was already done, they were adding on to the building by creating the Watchtower.

I don't think so. In Thunderbolts you can clearly see Avengers Tower still. In Far From Home there is nothing recognizable except the building's location. Like where in Thunderbolts was the open garden area Spider-Man flew through?

I found Thunderbolts to be a waste of potential, and very underwhelming. These characters are meant to be a hand-to-hand fighters, not therapists for a Superman knockoff. The banter was great, and the characters are compelling, but overall this was a disappointment.

To break it down into film composition terms, the characters were great, but the writing was pretty bad. And this is coming from someone who was in the target audience for this type of film.

I wouldn't say distrust, but Thunderbolts made it clear to me that the MCU is still a shadow of its former self. I still get the feeling that the execs are grasping at straws here in an attempt to rebuild the franchise, but there's still so much uncertainty about which direction the universe is going to go. I can feel that the inklings of a plan are starting to show up with the fantastic four and doomsday, but with all the messiness of the past two phases, I need my trust to be built back.

Maybe I am saying distrust, I don't know. I'm just seeing subpar after subpar Marvel movie compared to films from the Infinity Saga, especially phase three.

Pretty much. Deadpool and Wolverine has been the best phase 5 film for me so far, but it's still really just a love letter to the fans. I wouldn't call it a top-notch film by any stretch of the imagination.

Go watch Thunderbolts. You'll probably disagree with me, and that's fine. My standards are a little different than a lot of people, especially when it comes to Marvel. While I am looking for an interesting movie, I also want some concurrency between films similar to what the Infinity saga had, and I also want the vibe to align with the characters that are in play. Thunderbolts didn't do either of those things well.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Thunderbolts, I just found it to be very disappointing. I probably won't rewatch it because there was almost no depth to it whatsoever, but if I were given the choice between this and a bunch of other mediocre movies on an airplane, I'm picking Thunderbolts every time. It's still Marvel, and the characters are great in this. That alone would earn the film a 6 out of 10 at least for me.
