Scorpion doesn't really fit that mold at all., They probably aren't Gender-Swapping him and he's usually more of a Coward.

It is still a collaboration with Marvel Studios (Disney), but Sony Pictures are the distributors of this film. They seem to have the say on use of the Spider-Man characters.

Since Mac was introduced in Homecoming, it would be nice for them to bring him back as Scorpion. Especially since we haven’t seen a live action of this villain yet. He doesn’t need to become the main villain either, if this female antagonist is the lead instead.

Yeah, can easily be the supporting threat here.
