Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps releases next summer and people are mainly still talking about that crazy news that RDJ is playing Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom, which although I preferred Cillian Murphy, love this casting!
But I am still way more excited for The Fantastic Four: First Steps for these few reasons:
1. The Cast
Okay, after we got John Krasinski’s cameo as Reed and then Chris Evans as Johnny back...until he died...we are officially getting Marvel's First Family in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The cast includes Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Julia Garner and Ralph Ineson as the big man himself, Galactus.
The cast is already amazing and the leaked trailer (which is a concept trailer since the cast will begin filming tomorrow on Tuesday) showcased the cast in their comic-accurate designs!
2. The 1960’s Vibe
Most may be disappointed that it's not set in the main universe but I'm fine with it because we get an incredibly cool and unique universe with a futuristic retro city! I think I would've preferred a vibrant period piece set in another universe than a bland modern day flick set in the main universe. The vibe really gives off WandaVision vibes which makes sense since Matt Shakman is in the director's chair for this film!
3. The Villain
Come on...Ralph Ineson as Galactus?
EFFING PHENOMENAL!
4. The Family Aspect
From the leaked trailer, it looks like they will be focusing more on the space adventure and the family side of the team which is something the previous films didn't do justice. The Fantastic Four is in fact, Marvel's First Family so they have to nail that aspect or it's gonna just fall flat.
5. The Music
The music in the concept trailer was phenomenal and we know the composer is Micheal Giachinnio who directed Werewolf By Night and composed amazing scores for other projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
6. The Suits
The suits were already revealed in the Valentine’s Day and the 4-4 Day Celebration artwork images and it looks like the comics, it doesn't even properly look modern which makes it stand out!
