Yeah, pretty much was. Like, they say it was a budget factor, but when you went from ABC to Netflix for their split costs in the first place, that should be where the money goes on things. Instead they give the excuse that he was mentally scarred by Frank, but that comes off far greater with him physically scarred too.

Yeah it had to be the cost right? Netflix would not scale back on being more grotesque compare to what they have done in their other shows, so I figure it was a money thing. I did like his mask he made for himself. Now I see Ben Barnes in these T-Mobile phone commercials and I just think Jigsaw is trying to recruit me for some phones.

Dominic West’s Jigsaw was certainly tougher to look at. I just looked a picture of him again and the make up around his eyes was well done.

It was budget wise from the last time they explained themselves on it.

Yeah, the mask was a good idea for sure. Especially since compared to the comics and previous Punisher media, he's not going to be going out with a puzzle face in broad daylight and commit crimes where people can shoot him in his stitches.

I think it also had the story purpose. As I see it, the writers wanted to focus on Billy's inner struggle, it's his mind that was broken into jigsaw puzzle and his desperately trying to piece it together. So less focus on the exterior and more on interior is not too bad if you ask me. Also like, the modern surgery is better than it was back then, so imo it's more believable to have his face less damaged. It's definitely a budget issue but still, I found it not too bad.
