Hello MCU fans I'm here today to tell my review on Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. I saw the movie 2 Sundays ago (on the 19th) and planned to review it here but here I am today.
I thought this movie was good and only good. This movie wasn't so bad just a little bit disappointing to my very high expectations, which I will have to say about that later. I will say this movie's plot was solid but some parts were very mushy.
Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
-Cassie. I personally loved Cassie. For me Cassie was so much fun to watch. Kathryn is amazing as Cassie. Her relationship with Scott and I am very excited to see her more as Stature!(Please let there be the Young Avengers)
-Paul Rudd. He is Paul Rudd and Paul Rudd is always amazing and it still has his humor.
-Kang. I loved Jonathan Majors. Personally I think Kang the Conqueror is alive.
-The post and mid credit scenes were VERY good. It made me even more excited for Loki Season 2 which I didn't think was humanly possible!
-MODOK. Now many people think he is bad. Well I don't, I think MODOK was the perfect amount of weirdness. MCU fans have to remember that the comics were weird, like really weird.
-Ant-Man. He was good.
-The family dynamic was so good, knowing that Scott wasn't there most of Cassie's life were where lines like "I know how to take care of myself, ok. Trust me I'm pretty good at it" where we realize that Cassie was on her own (not including her mother and Paxton but that phase probably happened too with them) but then needs her Dad and realizes that, which I think is some good writing.
-CGI For the Quantum Realm were stunning. It is one of the most unique and visually pleasing places in the MCU
Cons:
-Not enough Hope. If the move is named Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania then the movie should have a good amount of the Wasp well there isn't. This movie has Hope in very few scenes.
-Some scenes were eh
Now about the disappointment part. I think as fans we have very high expectations for Marvel movies which is why with some other things is why we think they are bad. After amazing movies like Endgame, Infinity War and NWH our expectations have risen for MCU movies which is good but also bad. Not every movie will be a huge crossover event where the greatest come to face up the big bad. No and we need to lower our expectations so these movies will be good again. The movie is a good movie but compared to others like Endgame of course. But Endgame wouldn't be as good if it didn't get the needed 12 years and 21 movies before it. Yes there are flaws but it is a good movie but our expectations are killing it.
Summary. I thought the move was good and is excited for phase 5. I would give it an 8/10.
