@Dark Warslinger I'm on my twelfth rewatch of Daredevil. Nope, Matt didn't get any in his own show with the exception of "Ten Years Ago" with Elektra. Never slept with Karen. Never slept with Claire. (They made a big deal of both of these, with Matt not going up to Karen's apartment and showing that he slept on the couch when Claire was crashing with him.) All those times Foggy thought Matt was with a woman Matt was actually out being Daredevil. So I, for one, am THRILLED that Matt finally got him some coffee!
^^^I'm very confident in saying the canon has won. At least for Netflix.
I'm still not sold on the CGI fighting style. BUT....
Hallway fight was amazing and felt like "our" Daredevil
All the dialogue with him and Jen was awesome
Loved the courtroom scene
Hallway fight -- sure it's not up to his own show's standards, but still, it was biolent and brutal and I'm glad he wasn't "disney-fied" too much
Marvel saying "and he's very much the same Matt Murdock audiences have come to know" made me weep with happiness. (Okay, not really, but you get my point)
It is a good day for fans who have watched most MCU content.
For starters, Leap Frog is the lamest superhero ever. He's like Vigilante from Peacemaker is he wasn't cool and was an even bigger idiot. I was surprised his lawsuit even made it in front of a judge, since it was clear from the outset that his injuries were the result of his own buffoonery.
It was very cool to see Matt again and to see him suit up for the first time in four years. The dynamic between him and Jen was very enjoyable, though going into this episode I wasn't expecting them to hook up. It was nice to see this more lighthearted side of him, but I hope that once he's back in New York he will return to his usual dark and broody self. He also needs to ditch the gold, because it looks goofy, and setting up another iconic hallway fight only to throw it away for a gag is...a choice.
The ending makes it very clear that this is only the beginning of Jen's problems. Though she had every reason in the world to be angry, her outburst has immediately destroyed all of the good will she has built up and now the world will only see her as a monster. Now she gets to experience what Bruce has had to put up with for all of these years.
The thing that makes me sad about this episode is that there will still be people saying Daredevil isn't canon. Kevin Feige could literally say word-for-word "Daredevil is canon" and some people still wouldn't believe it
as if the music of the opening of the serie was not enough
^Yeah, but they'd still find a way to argue that that isn't definitive proof. For instance, when Superman shows up at the end of Shazam!, the John Williams Superman theme plays even though it's clearly meant to be Henry Cavill and not Christopher Reeve.
The evidence of daredevil and the Netflix shows being canon is undeniable at this point. As someone who’s believed there were canon since day one, I’m overjoyed to see Daredevil become more involved in the more mainstream side of the MCU.
It's nice to see that Matt is better at handling multiple enemies simultaneously without exhausting himself. Just goes to show that he's had plenty more practice since the events of the Netflix show, which chronicled his first 3 years as DD (2015-2018). After all, he's been doing this for 9 years now in 2024. It'll be interesting to see how he handles fights with Kingpin now that he's more experienced.
What do you think?
