They played the freaking Netflix Daredevil theme
Good episode, loved the direct reference to the Daredevil finale. Canon debate should be over now
The Sokovia Accords have been repealed. The UN must have done that to prevent another Thanos-level threat from happening.
Loved the bit of the Netflix theme
Wow, we have seen Charlie Cox star in Daredevil since 2015 and it takes the show's cancellation for him to start playing Daredevil. I know I just triggered a lot of people by saying that but Daredevil is not like Hollywood Batman where he is miserable 24/7. He has a lot more charm and cares much more about his civilian life which includes being much more openly passionate with his relationships. Netflix Matt refused to get close to anyone for the sake of keeping them safe. Comic Book Matt would have slept with Karen and Claire, probably at the same time
The thing with characters being written by dozens of authors for like 60 years is that every portrayal can be "comic accurate", it just depends on which comics you're referring to.
See, one thing I really like about Netflix characters' re-introduction in the MCU is that they feel more humane, I'd say. Yes, Matt Murdock is a broken man with a heavy burden of protecting the peace on the streets, while maintaining his life as a lawyer. But that doesn't mean that he can't crack a joke, being flirty and even hooking up with a woman he knew for one day but definitely had some chemistry with.
Same for Kingpin in Hawkeye. Yes, he's a ruthless and brutal crime lord but that doesn't mean he doesn't celebrate Christmas or can't dress up in a goofy Hawaiian shirt for a bit (which is both canon and was pitched by D'Onofrio himself).
Yeah, all in all even apart from the whole Daredevil thing, that was a decent episode.
What do you think?
