Very excited to finally see Namor in the MCU
They showed the wings in action. :D And the more I see it, the more curious about the Mayan component to the MCU take on Atlantis/Talocan and Namor. Wonder if Talocan's origins are also tied to Vibranium?
Digging the 'parallel yet contrasting' theme emerging: Talocan/Wakanda both being these hidden cities in plain sight, Namor/Black Panther both with tragic histories and leading their kingdom, Shuri/Riri both being technological geniuses but way different upbringings.
We still don't really know much about Riri's arc yet, right? I take it she's in a way part of T'Challa's legacy. He set up the first Wakandan International Outreach Centre in Oakland at the end of BP1, and I would guess more were built like in Chicago and Riri was one of the success stories, the centre nurtured her potential at a young age and put her life on a new trajectory she otherwise may not have found prior - going to college at MIT in Cambridge, building Ironheart, etc.
Overall, liked the balance of action and pathos/drama in the new trailer along with more looks at the new and returning cast.
This is a fantastic trailer and props to whoever is doing the music these trailers! This could end up being my favorite phase 4 movie.
About the Bast worship thing, it just made me wonder if in BP 1, M'Baku won the fight and became the new king of Wakanda, wouldn't he inherit the identity of Black Panther as well? I suppose it would be a part of sovereign's obligation in Wakanda. If he wants other tribes to submit to him, he has to follow.
@Bund I assumed the capital would shift to where M'Baku's tribe lived and he would reject the mantle of Black Panther, thus it would go defunct until T'Challa, Shuri, or someone related to them challenged him and won. Doubt any other of the tribes would have been willing to fight M'Baku. They didn't challenge Killmonger.
@Mrmichaelt Since there is no way to verify both of our theoretical interpretations how Wakanda's politics works, I guess we are half-half.
@Greater good Woah, i didn't know that. But Man-Ape sounds like a really cool character. I guess we can't have it because of some racist idiots.
If I remember right, the Jabari don't use Vibranium or tech really and still worship the god Hanuman. If anything, M'Baku could instead level up by becoming Hanuman's avatar like Moon Knight or the others in MK's show.
Hanuman in the MCU would slap, ngl.
Race swap? I’m comics Shuri was also Black Panther and what’s wrong with Race Swap?
What do you think?
