I'm pretty sure that small explosion does suggest that she died, but it doesn't exactly imply it. The point of that scene is that her status is ambiguous. Part of me wants her to be dead, because the MCU has a bad habit of keeping its heroes alive for too long. Surely it sacrifices some, but its about to time we get a definitive end. That said, I wouldn't be fussed if Wanda is revealed to be alive, nor would I be fussed if she was revealed to be dead. That said, knowing the MCU, she is probably alive and will return at some point.

That ambiguous puff of red could mean anything. It could indicate she died, or it could indicate she teleported (or got teleported) away at the last second, or some possibility in between.
