There’s no perfect solution for how to deal with grief and loss. On top of that Wanda’s been dealing with losses ever since she was a child and she saw an opportunity to get some semblance of happiness back and she went for it. I don’t agree with or excuse her methods but at the center of it is a person who’s culmination of grief overwhelmed them.

I think Wanda would be great as a villain, but they didn’t do it very well.

Scarlet Witch's arc in the MCU has up to this point been a villain origin story. Go back and watch her appearances in Age of Ultron, Civil War and Infinity War she had already lost both parents indirectly due to Iron Man and was desperate to serve as a volunteer for HYDRA and was recruited by Ultron to destroy the Avengers. Afterwards she lost Quicksilver due him sacrificing himself for Hawkeye and met Vision. Later she ironically is the thing that drives the Avengers apart because failure to contain the explosion from Crossbones is what began the Sokovia Accords and Vision's love for her is the reason he split off from Iron Man and they had to run away to be together. Finally in Infinity War she spends the entire film trying to avoid killing Vision because he is the only thing left in her life that makes her happy but Thanos made that sacrifice pointless. You could honestly watch her appearances in Endgame, WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness as her embracing the villain side that was brewing since her parents death
