@M.K.M.007 Absolutely. I was disappointed when this was missing from the movie. A part of me was hoping Mysterio was still alive so he could be exposed that way and be villain #6. Alternatively, he had so many people working for him. Not a single one of them was ever found or caught? Not a single SHIELD agent could testify to what Peter was doing?
At the end of Far From Home, the guy from Stark Industries put something on a flash drive. Wouldn't it be great if that had been video footage exposing Mysterio? Like if it's something he kept for leverage, but he decides to release it because of a guilty conscience? It could have been a video of Mysterio congratulating everyone for their lies in that bar. Then, a video of when he threatened his coworker's lives while testing the drones. He could have leaked that during the final battle, showing the world the truth before everyone's mind was wiped of Peter Parker.
Because even after they forget Peter, the world still thinks Spider-Man was behind Mysterio's attacks, and that's really annoying.
But yeah, I would have loved to see that court case. Now that Peter's identity is out there, there's no reason not to play up just how much he's done for the world.
Like Matt says, "May the people of the jury recognize that Mr. Parker, aided in the capture of several fugitives under the direction of Tony Stark with authorization from the United States government."
Then the other lawyer says, "This brat stole a Chitauri power core and carelessly gave it to his friend who took it up to the Washington Monument. Peter Parker and his friend are responsible for the destruction of national property."
Matt responds, "After which Mr. Parker risked his life to save everyone inside."
Other lawyer "He interfered in an FBI investigation on the Staten Island Ferry resulting in an altercation that almost destroyed the entire boat. If Iron Man hadn't shown up --"
Matt "Mr. Parker was on that boat because he was tailing Adrian Toomes, whom he eventually caught and prevented from stealing all kinds of dangerous equipment. Then the unthinkable happened. The extra terrestrials who decimated New York returned. Mr. Parker was on a school trip at the time. Now he could have simply stayed on his school bus, left it to the adults. Most kids his age would have been terrified of extra terrestrials. Not Peter. He left the safety of his bus to defend the entire planet. He saved the life Iron Man, who of course was instrumental in the return of half the population. He saved the life of Doctor Stephen Strange, who was also instrumental in bringing everyone back. Mr. Parker fought Thanos directly. Then when Thanos returned, he fought him again. Imagine that for a moment -- fighting an entire army of extra terrestrials. Right after being turned to dust. And you're just a kid. I can only imagine how disorienting, how terrifying, how exhausting that would be. And after all that, to lose Tony Stark, to lose someone that close...I'd say Mr. Parker's summer vacation was well earned. He helped countless people who were displaced by the Blip. But there's no rest for the weary. He encountered monsters made of water and fire. What was he supposed to do? Of course he defended his friends, because that's what he does. He was manipulated and deceived by Quinton Beck as we all were --"
Other Lawyer, "It was extremely irresponsible for Stark to give full control of his entire network to a child!"
Matt "Tony Stark is not the one on trial. Peter Parker is."
Other Lawyer, "And then Parker gave control of the entire network to Beck. If Beck was as devious as you claim, then that makes Parker complicit."
Matt "Mr. Parker was not aware of Beck's true intentions when he gave him control. And as soon as he found out, he did everything in his power to stop Beck, which he did successfully."
Other Lawyer, "He told the drones to execute every civilian!"
Matt "No, he was telling them to execute protocols to cancel their attacks. This video proves it..."
And so on and so forth.
