To quote the TVA itself, "it was all part of the Sacred Timeline". It's just like in the comics. Like, the X-Men have done so many alternate timelines just by existing, including but not limited to ... House of M, Days of Future Past, Age of Apocalypse, , among others, and yet they've never being pruned by their own TVA for their crimes against the timeline.

Yeah I don't think you got what I meant. IF the TVA was doing the job it CLAIMS to be doing, ANY variants that weren't exactly like Tom Hiddleston and that didn't follow his exact storyline from the MCU, would have been removed. Born female? Gone. Different skin colour? Gone. Different species? You better believe it.

Nothing to do with potential. Sylvie was a badass: not doubting that. But she's not the exact Loki that the Sacred Timeline requires, so if that was the genuine reason for the TVA then she would have been removed at birth. But she wasn't.

The little branches in the timeline are actually fine right up until they cross a threshold, and that threshold is the moment when the universe is going to cause a Variant of He Who Remains. It's got nothing to do with perfect timelines or the other issues the TVA propaganda implies: it's literally all about Kang. It's what He Who Remains spells out to the Lokis in the finale. It's the reason for the war that the TVA misrepresents in propaganda to justify their inhumane treatment of those they consider "variants".

The TVA can't be placed at a certain point at the timeline, but the Nexus Events can happen after or before the TVA was rebirthed by Kang. The Loki series take place after that scene in Endgame but in every moment from the Big Bang to No Way Home and the end of the MCU the TVA is active. So what others say; the events can happen after the TVA got rebirth with the murder of He Who Remains.

Crocodile Loki could have been a Normal Loki until probably a spell went wrong and turned him into a crocodile. And he was immediately picked up by the TVA.

Sylvie was removed, in my theory, because she decided to become a hero and not grow jealous of Thor.

But a big deviation like a spiderman with a completely different story wouldn't be a small deviation.

@venom1502jw well yeah that's literally my point. A universe that different isn't making a Kang Variant, so the TVA don't care. The TVA get instructions from the Time Keepers. The Time Keepers are controlled by He Who Remains. He Who Remains wants to stop variants of him, to avoid another Multiversal War. That's the full extent of his plan. If your universe isn't going to lead to that then he doesn't care.

It actually makes quite a lot of sense for the variants we see as well when you think like that. If Loki doesn't impact Earth, then Fantastic Four may be changed irreversibly. If a female Loki doesn't wage war on Earth and bring the Avengers together, that's a whole butterfly effect leading to Thanos. If a universe is populated with animals it's unlikely to cause a problem, but if the wrong neighbour is eaten and heroes take up the cause it may lead to the Fantastic Paw or something ridiculous.

I'm probably not explaining this right, but the basic point is that the TVA wouldn't go after universes that don't have a Richards bloodline that could end with Nathanial Richards, AKA: a variant of He Who Remains.

@TheD00dlebug We saw the sacred timeline was unbranched. He prunes every branch, cuz he doesn't know which one might lead to a Kang or all branches produce a different Kang. And every Kang might not be Nathaniel Richards. Like how every Iron Man isn't Tony Stark.
