In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Ego believed that he was the last Celestial in existence. However, Eternals reveals that more Celestials exist. How come Ego thought he was the only one left?

Most likely a retcon
Yep that's most likely the case
Otherwise, ig he was just dumb:)
Or he was abandoned by his family.
I guess he wasn’t that really aware of the Celestials. When we left his planet to visit the others, they weren’t around so he might not know if their existence. Also since it doesn’t seem that he had parents or how he was born he probably didn’t have any knowledge of them
I don't think tbh
Ahh I hate this bug
I can't mention who I am replying to
Ego was a bit strange as a Celestial - he wasn’t one in the comics and how he is depicted in the MCU is inconsistent with the other Celestials in both formation and appearance.
Perhaps they were originally trying to say that Ego was a “celestial lifeform,” rather than a literal Celestial, but that got muddled at some point.
Perhaps at some point he came across Knowhere, learned that it was a dead Celestial and concluded that he must also be a Celestial as it was the only thing he’d come across on a similar scale to himself.
@TheOgreS In the book "Marvel Studios: Visual Dictionary", it is explicitly said that Ego is one of the Celestials like Eson the Searcher.
The theory that Ego is mistaken about his own origin doesn't work for me. Uatu/The Watcher also called Ego a Celestial in What If...? 1x02.
What do you think?
