It is possible that Graviton Talbot could still quake apart the planet before the Emergence happened. Not sure if the results from the Emergence is always the same, but I got the impression that there is nothing left of the planet when the Celestial finally emergents. While the quaked apart Earth we saw in AOS still had some portion of the planet still around. So maybe they do it before it happens.

I think that, in-universe, it makes sense to make a correlation between Graviton's destruction of Earth and Tiamut. I don't think, at all, that the plot of AoS S5 planned to retroactively connect with Tiamut or had Tiamut in their mind. However, from what is presented in the show, Graviton is the one who destroys Earth. Its possible the "quake" that it produced forced a premature birth of Tiamut. Curiously Chicago's antipode is set in the Indian Ocean, though Tiamut's birth isn't placed exactly in Chicago's antipode, but in a wide way of saying things, its curious how they're geographically placed opposite to each other. We know large impacts on a planet (namely asteroid/comet impacts) can have curious effects on the antipode site of the impact (for instance, the asteroid that hit Mexico at the end of the Cretaceous period might have motivated heavy volcanic activity in India). So the global earthquake in Chicago might have promoted Tiamut's premature birth. I have previously speculated, as well, that gravitonium could be some form of yolk for Tiamut, which would also coherently go in accordance with its antipodal location, and the disruption of the gravitonium would cause stuff to go wild. That would be my take in trying to make sense of the two events.

I always assumed that it was the fight between Daisy and Talbot that made the Gravitonium in the Earth's crust go crazy and destroy it. Talbot wouldn't have needed to go to Wakanda to destroy the world, not to mention, Talbot doesn't know where Thanos is.

But yeah, Tiamut reinforces Agents of SHIELD's premise in an interesting way. I had a similar theory a while back. What if Gravitonium is just the brain-fluid of a Celestial and the Gravitonium that ripped the Earth apart was just the power of Tiamut all along? (cue Agatha music)

The good thing is, Agents of SHIELD never showed the world breaking, so we can imagine that Tiamut simply woke up early like Miguel said and floated away. Maybe Arishem plucked the Eternals away at the last second too.

This also brings up another question: did Thanos know about the Emergence? Because his brother Eros is an Eternal. I only ask because Ajak said the Snap delayed the Emergence, meaning it was imminent in 2018. So if Thanos knew that, maybe that was why he decided to get the stones then. Maybe he decided to expedite his search for them before Earth was destroyed. Maybe Thanos was waiting until he knew the location of every stone (he was still waiting on the Soul Stone's location), but when it was a week away from Tiamut being born, Thanos said, "Fine, I'll do it myself" and went to collect the stones whose locations he did know before it was too late.

It's kind of crazy -- no matter how you slice it, there was always going to be an apocalypse in 2018. Either Daisy and Talbot were going to rip the world apart or Tiamut was going to emerge or Thanos was going to wipe out half of all life.

Lol, they should have made Eternals in 2012 so the date of the Emergence could be December 21 2012.
