All Strange knew is that there were a number of intruders from different universes, he wasn't aware about the exact number. I think he was only concerned about the ones who posed any kind of threat, so he probably didn't notice them. Seems like, he sent Peter only after the dangerous ones , while Strange would undo the spell. If he'd suceed, Tobey and Andrew would get transported to their universes as well, as it was shown in the finale.

The ego point is still a head scratcher. If celestials are born fully formed, the size of a planet, then why was ego born just a brain?

I initially thought that nowhere was a massive avatar like ego’s avatar, but if they were born that way, then that’s not the case.

Ok I'm just speculating but my theory is that the planet where Ego was supposed to emerge was destroyed beforehand, so he remained just being a flicker of energy but started to manipulate the matter around him and build a planet around himself which allowed Ego to fully develop. Again, just my theory.

In any case, I assume that not all Celestials were born through the Emergence, and Knowhere really is the severed head of a dead Celestial, as far as we know.

Not sure about andrew's peter but since Tobey's Peter was dressed as a cool youth pastor he was not easily recognized to be from another universe

What Dr. Strange actually says is, after the spell went wrong and he'd sent Peter away, he spotted an interdimentional presence. He tracked it to the sewers and encountered Lizard, who he then sent to the crypt. It's only then that he learnt (probably from the news helicopters they make a big deal out of) that Spider-Man was fighting another one, Doc Ock. So he brought them as well.

He explicitly says he doesn't know how many have come through, which is why they need to "Scooby-Doo this shit" and solve the mystery before sending them home.

He's also clearly frustrated when he discovers just how many have come through later in the film. When he's on the Statue and the other two Spider-Men appear he looks downright alarmed because it's a lot worse than he expected.

Maybe ego was a semi successful emergence where yes he was able to come out but more or less controls his own planet instead so he can or cant create suns or galaxies but he os different from the other celestials where he carried out his own philosophy

Concerning Ego, I think he's not a fully developed celestial and thus why he needed starlord(Peter Quill) to harness more energy to take over other planets..

For the rings, we're all still at a lost as MCU has not shed any light on it..

And about Doctor Strange, he didn't know how many individuals were brought in from other universes and so only got to know the villains as they attracted attention to themselves by causing a lot of damage
