Still unsure as to why Sony would have access to comic characters that showed up years later. I'm assuming its just a stipulation of the contract that was between Sony and Marvel. Just makes no sense.

@KhaosKommandr During the big Fox-embargo in Marvel Entertainment, there was a mandate to not create new characters in the X-Men books because Fox would be able to use them. So it doesn't matter when a character is created. It just matters who that character is associated with. Squirrel Girl was even retconned from mutant to a human-squirrel hybrid so that Fox wouldn't have her. There is no list of characters in the contracts. So Sony would own Knull no matter when Marvel created the character because he created the Symbiotes and was first identified in a Venom book.

But how did the celestial died?

@Jon sad What does that have to do with this discussion? Is it because the Celestials created the X-Gene that you assume Fox had to have the rights to them? Well, apparently they were tied more to the Eternals than the X-Men.

@SeanWheeler He’s referring to Knowhere. In the comics, Knull killed the Celestial that eventually became Knowhere.

It is possible that Knowhere was killed by another being in the MCU (maybe Gorr the God Butcher, I don’t know). They’ve made these changes before. Example: In the MCU, Ego was Peter Quill’s father; in the comics J’Son was his father.

Maybe Knull Will appear in both the MCU & Sony Marvel Extended Universe.

Here’s where I’m going with this, both realities exist in the same MCU Multiverse apparently! from what I’ve heard on Youtube and Fandom, Knull is the creator of all symbionts (with may connect to the Venom Films), was the one to decapitate Knowhere (his head was seen as a location in guardians of the galaxy and avengers infinity war; this may connect to the MCU Films) & created All-Black (The Necrosword was wielded by Hela in Thor Ragnarok; this may connect to the MCU Films), maybe in phase 5 of the mcu, They might be another Multiversal Crossover between the Sony Marvel Universe and Prime MCU and venom will have to team up with Spiderman and the avengers (if they somehow managed to reform the group) to fight against Knull?

I mean it could happen, maybe the other two Spiderman from NWH (The Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Portrayals of the Character) May appear in that kind of crossover? What do you think?

@Heartz13 While I find it unlikely, I would totally be on board with that idea. Knull is extremely popular in the comics, and (given their past history) I would assume that SONY would try to keep him for themselves 😬.

Also, you called it the “SONY Marvel Extended Universe”. Did they change their name AGAIN and I missed it? [This is a legitimate question, I am not trying to sound nasty, here]

@Nathanial Higgins Well, the "Sony Marvel Extended Universe" is a better name than "Sony's Spider-Man Universe." With the MCU using Spider-Man, it's weird to see his name attached to the universe he's not involved in. "Sony's Spider-Man Universe" should have been referring to the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield universes. In fact, when they planned to expand the Amazing Spider-Man series into spinoffs, "Sony's Spider-Man Universe" was the perfect name. But then they made a deal with Marvel to put Spider-Man in the MCU and now Venom's origin story has been changed to omit Peter Parker.

@SeanWheeler Oh yeah! I totally agree, although I miss “SONY Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters” aka “SPUMC” 😂
