@AllFor4 That’s not how I interpreted that line at all. Happy says “Tony wouldn’t have done what he did if he didn’t know you would be here after he was gone”. He doesn’t mean he sacrificed himself FOR Peter, he means that he knew he’d be leaving the world in capable hands. The whole point of the movie and that scene is Peter learning to step out of Tony’s shadow and be his own hero. Happy’s trying to help him realize he’s capable. Literally right before that line he says “You’re not the next Iron Man. Tony couldn’t even live up to Tony.” Telling him Tony died for him would literally just make him feel worse and wouldn’t make any sense as a response.

I’ve never understand all the “Iron Boy Jr.” complaints. The whole point of FFH is Peter learning he’s not the next Iron Man, he’s Spider-Man. Which is why it ends with him embracing his Spider-Sense and finally doing the iconic swinging through Manhattan. Curious/skeptical where NWH brings him, but I’ve never had any issue with the Peter-Tony dynamic.

That’s hardly equivalent - a scene which sets up the conflict of a movie or an emotional theme vs here’s a dog getting killed that doesn’t add to the story in any way.

That's a ridiculous and bizarrely pointed question, but here are some good ones:

Fight Club. Opening scene perfectly sets up a dark ending to the film, foreshadows some stuff you won't even spot until the midway point, snd is perfectly dark and gritty.

Saving Private Ryan. Before we even know the plot, we're introduced to a survivor of D-Day, seeing the emotional and societal trauma that event had on the character, and the world.

Spider-Man 2. I just love this movie. The opening titles are amazing as usual, and catch the audience up on the first film. The actual scene begins sombre and thoughtful like the first film, and then quickly changes into the fun and campy humour of the pizza scene.

Iron Man. The first Iron Man has a fantastic opening. It's fun, but dark. The character is unlikeable but charismatic, and the stakes are immediately made known to us with a bloody gunfight and kidnapping scene.

Avengers: Infinity War. One of the darkest openings in the MCU so far. The entire scene on Thors ship is the best kind of horrifying and perfectly sets the stage for Thanos.

That's really weird that you changed your comment from a stupid question about good openings, to just giving a ridiculous example of a made-up opening instead
