Why is the opening scene of Guardians of the Galaxy so damn sad?!?!!
Uh, I don’t know. Maybe it has something to do with a child watching his mother die of cancer. 🤦♂️
To show Quills origins
This shows why Star-Lord is characterized as a child in a man's body, he lost his mum to cancer at a young age and was almost immediately abducted from Earth by aliens to grow up as a space pirate. He never had the chance to grow up and so is doing so now with the Guardians as an adult
@Ra3099 yeah I get that but why did they have to make it so hard to watch?
The fact that it's so sad becomes really crucial in Guardians 2. Ego tries to indoctrinate Star-Lord into his "higher purpose," and then casually mentions killing the mother. But that's what turns Peter against him, because losing his mother was super traumatic for him. Gunn made sure to show us how traumatic it was because the trauma of it is what broke Ego's spell over Peter. It's basically the reason the Galaxy was saved. It's the difference between Peter and Ego. Ego was willing to justify killing her. Peter would never do that in a million years.
@Neutron Lightning well maybe they should've saved that scene for Guardians 2 then
I wanna see the other guardians origins
@Miraculous Blader I don't know about all the Guardians but I think we will learn about Rocket Raccoon's origins in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and that will probably include how he met Groot
Oh let's hope so
I thought that opening scene was perfect
What do you think?
