If John Garrett wanted to know how Coulson came back from the dead, why didn't he just ask Alexander Pierce instead of going to all the trouble of having Ward spy for him?
We don’t even know if Pearce knew abt it.
Also Pierce probably hadn’t meet Coulson. He is only good friends with Nick Fury
Fury kept it off the books. VERY few knew the details pertaining to the project.
The facility it took place in and the drug used were all kept off record.
Fury did it OUT of the SHIELD. this is why the Clairvoyant couldn't "see" it, because he did not have access to it.
Therefore, Pierce also could not know about it.
