I liked the way they played it, seeing her reaction instead without us having to see a specific backstory. Just understanding she was a human with a human life. Sort of leaves it blank to the audience to fill in whatever story they can relate to and trusts the actor's performance, rather than doing some sort of overdone montage of love and loss.
