When did Variety announce something that wasn't true?
Never. Variety is very reliable. It is becoming a trend to just cast doubts on these reveals for some reason... Variety, Deadline and THR are not at the same level of WGTC... That is an insult.
@Alxzer Well, we currently have 30 episodes of Disney+…there’s 350 episodes to go in order to catch up.
@Zorkaan There are tons of leakers(Even Fisk himself) saying the issue will be addressed.
And we don't know what is necessary or not. Everything need not have a purpose or bigger plan.
Variety is more careful with their words, I’ll give you that. They call rumors what they are: rumors. However, they have been wrong as much as the others.
I can’t find the articles anymore, but I distinctly remember them discussing Benedict Cumberbach’s rumored appearance in WandaVision before WGTC and they also said that the beginning of Endgame would feature Rocket and Pepper teaming up to save Tony and Nebula, which other sites took as pure fact because “Variety reported on it.”
@Venom1502jw I'm sorry. I know, I hear myself. I don't want to devolve into a type of fan I can't stand. I don't want to be bitter, I really don't. I can't remember how long you've been around on these discussions, but I've tried so hard, for years now. And I've been optimistic, and I've given so many chances. But I'm so tired, I'm so worn out, and almost every time now they are doing the exact thing I was afraid of and tried to be optimistic about.
To be clear, it is not just because of the shows. It's not. It's because of Marvel Studios' handling in the last few years of, yes, the shows, but also, to list just a few things:
Clarity - in many, many respects.
"Weirdness" for the sake of "weirdness" instead of actual natural storytelling.
Overwhelming their universe, destroying all specialty to their franchise.
Time travel rule handling.
Multiverse rule handling.
Venom, and the massive ramifications on the MCU even meaning anything.
Other Spider-Man and seemingly Fox franchises.
Deadpool.
Handling of character continuity with Wanda, Sharon, Loki.
Its entire handling of What If...?.
Its entire handling of Spider-Man: No Way Home and its storytelling.
And much more.
But yes, most importantly, the shows.
My optimism has taken blow after blow after blow.
And they have harmed the Marvel TV shows. They have. They have made them unwatchable to me, because they hurt. They cause anxiety, upset, distress. And that's still with them canon. And they've let bullying of the fans run rampant in their fan-base. I hurt just by being a fan of these shows online now.
The one thing I don't accept from people is the idea of "I lost this thing as canon, but I still enjoy it, you should feel the same" or "The shows are still enjoyable even if non-canon, focus on that". Firstly, in your specific example with Venom, that's extremely different. It's a single film that was always officially separate and is going in a direction towards some form of canon. The TV shows are 7 years and 300 hours of content coming with years of my life's dedication, officially part of the franchise and promised as such from the start, and going in a worrying direction. But secondly, in response to that general point people make, what I always say: I'm glad you feel that way, and I wish I could feel the same - I've tried, but I can't. And I've explained why in the letter. Please respect that I and others feel differently about that idea. To me, for reasons I have justified, losing canon would mean losing the shows. I can't lose these shows.
Right, 'unneccessary' was just my own opinion concerning some D+ episodes ^^. My bad (yes, Party Thor, I'm looking at you).
Actually, as many here I loved when there was a purpose and bigger plan. I hope they'll keep that, but with so many shows in the work, it's not sure they succeed in achieving this. and if they fail, well, the MCU's interest will significantly decrease in my humble view. Again, just my opinion. I'm just afraid.
Okay this is getting ridiculous... it's not even the fact that they're making God knows how much shows per year, is the fact that they're doing it with characters like frickin' Agatha Harkness.
"U.S. Agent? That layered character that is able to bring a darker and more psychological side to the Marvel Studios content, and was masterfully played by Wyatt Russell? No lmao, let's make a show about Agatha Harkness. Haha funny WandaVision character lol"
What in the universe are they even doing!?
@BEJT I appreciate your concern and opinion. I think I cleared the Venom point with the bracket, but okay. Just want to say one thing- pls don't lose hope. Trust Feige. The Sun will shine on us again, brother.
Yaaaaaaaaay!
What do you think?
