@SeanWheeler That would have been way better for continuity though. I had been saying for over a year that using a multiverse explanation would be a very poor choice on Sony's part, because it would make the crossover continuity very forced, yet they chose that anyway for whatever reason. The original script of Venom 2 had Spider-Man as a simply a part of the universe, and that would have been a far cleaner solution imo.
I'm confused about Morbius. Set photos show Venom graffiti in the city, Daily Bugle newspaper with different logo. This suggests that Morbius is set in the Venom movies universe.
However, there is also "Spider-Man accused of murder" and "prisoner Adrian Toomes" (very similar to the current MCU).
There were rumors saying the logos were changed in post production, and I would believe Morbius will be set completely in MCU.
It was also supposed to come out before Venom 2, which further confused things.
@Rman41 Maybe ... they decided to put Venom in another universe because the movie features the first time that aliens have had contact with humans. Battle of NY/Chitauri never happened.
Which could have been easily explained that Eddie was just a denier. We have had murky quotes like that in MCU, ehem Runaways S2.
Yeah, Runaways had some "odd" quotes.
@Marvelus I have another unlikely, but possible theory. Probably the universes collided and combined and Venom and Eddie were able to sense it due to their connection to the multiversal hive-mind.
@David Kaique @Marvelus That wouldn't have even needed to be explained anyway. The movie never says that the symbiotes are first contact. Eddie's reaction can just be explained in that he is in utter disbelief of the situation, just in total shock; not that he doesn't believe in aliens. The reaction seen in the film can fit that very well.
