We know that they are still canon, the letter is to ask to keep it that way.

What if the characters show up in upcoming MCU Projects.

BEJT wrote the letter out of uncertainty of the shows' continuity being kept in new material. With all the new showrunners seemingly never watching any of the 7 years of Marvel TV content, it brings right way to worry that Marvel Studios might make an unrepairable continuity error in the future, not to mention the recent ambiguous state of Marvel TV being apart of continuity by Fiege.

(Last time he said they were same continuity was 2018, and, yes, I know his announcement of the Marvel Studios shows was him saying the shows and the movies will finally interconnect, not him saying they were the first MCU shows)

If they do show up then in future projects with the same continuity from their respective shows,

A. Fiege always kept them as canon, and everyone, including us, can finally shut up about this canon debate.

B. This letter somehow got the one in a million chance of actually being read by some higher up in Marvel Studios and having said higher up tell Fiege or enforce to keep continuity in future projects
