Disney/Sony Potential Buyout?

So with Disney reportedly considering buying out Sony for the film rights to Spider-Man do you think this will increase the chances we’ll see a Tom Holland Spider-Man and Tom Hardy Venom crossover? I for one would love to see these two on screen together however I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney chose to reboot Venom after acquiring the film rights. I love Hardy’s portrayal of Venom and would love to keep seeing him play the character, he obviously cares about the character and has shown commitment to the continued portrayal of Eddie Brock/Venom, Should Disney buy out Sony this might mean we’ll see Morbius in the MCU as well. What do you guys think?

I really hope Disney doesn’t buy Sony. Buying Spider-Man back is fine with me. Who is reporting this? Sony seems to have their own plans right now.

I don't buy this for a second. Do people think that the $72 billion that Disney spent buying Fox was just spare change they had lying around? It was half of their net worth, so they can't afford to make such a massive purchase like that again.

Besides, Disney would need the permission of the United States Congress to even go through with such a purchase. Since Disney already own Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, Fox and National Geographic, there is no way that Congress would allow them to buy a studio as big as Sony, since it would create too much of a monopoly. Basically, Congress is the friend that tells them "Go home Disney, you've had enough."
