It wasn’t supposed to happen, it’s probably part of the alternate time line but since the timeline where it was taken from 1970 was fixed then it became more of a possible future that ended up happening.

The TVA honestly seems like a bunch of hypocritical, illogical butt-holes. My bet is they mask their true agenda behind this guise of bureaucracy and justice.

I was thinking that, if the TVA can just reset any timeline to the way it was before, why did they take Loki prisoner in the first place? There's definitely something not right about them

Actually Alxzer proves a point. But as a counter-argument, I'll say that Tony and Cap travelling to 1970 wasn't supposed to happen either. That was a result of another unexpected event, which was Loki escaping with the Tesseract. Had Loki not escape, the Avengers would have retrieved the Tesseract from 2012, instead of 1970, and the events of 2023 would play pretty much the same anyway. 1970 was the consequence of Loki, but Loki not escaping wouldn't have been detrimental to their plan. Loki was indeed an undesired variant that was allowed to exist because the Time Heist was allowed to happen. Therefore, Loki escaping ended up being the side effect that the TVA was left to take care after the Avengers' Time Heist.

I think hinging monumental character decisions off of small experiences doesn’t make a ton of sense, but in storytelling it’s pivotal. I would argue that Steve would not have gone back to be with Peggy (leading to him passing on the shield to Sam) and Tony would not have sacrificed himself if they had not gone to 1970 (Steve sees Peggy in the flesh again, Tony talks with his dad and gains perspective). Sooo, events seemingly supposed to happen (Old Steve, Tony death), hinge on 1970 Time travel, which hinge on something “not supposed to happen” (Loki picking up the Tesseract). I just don’t think, from a writing perspective, 2023 post-Time Heist would have played out the same have Cap and Tony not gone to 1970.

The TVA’s logic is clearly flawed, and I severely hope the mini-series ends with the reveal that the deviation occurs when the Avengers arrive in the past, due to their removal of the Infinity Stones splitting it from the point of arrival. Loki’s decision didn’t change anything.

Yes , Varients are people that have no place in the timeline since their timeline getting clipped= another version of themselves is there who experienced the future as it happened in past movies

So not only Gamora but all of Thanos’ army and Nebula as well

As seen in the first scene in loki if he was in the timeline while it’s being reset he would have lived his life not remembering the TVA or anything but since he wasn’t and time was rewinded to erase the anomaly, he’s no place to go

Once any alternate timeline is created the TVA reset’s it

Comparing loki’s first scene and endgame new york scenes i’d assume that the TVA always clip’s the branch after the avengers leave it - and they aren’t prosecuted as they were supposed to create it in the first place-
