I loved them both for all the reasons stated by people less lazy than me who have typed then all out 😂 but I have to say I preferred watching WandaVision, simply because it was so intriguing and different. I never knew where it was going, and it was so much fun guessing what was happening and speculating wild theories each week! Also, it was a really interesting different style to the rest of the current MCU, which tends to focus more on action films. All in all, I just loved it for being such a unique and brave take, not just on the MCU but on all of television, and that's why it stands out especially for me. Not to say that TFaTWS wasn't both amazing and enjoyable, because it certainly was.
FatWS wasnt perfect at all, but thousands times better than WV.
Why do you dislike WandaVision? (just outta curiosity, not judging or anything 😀👍)
Both were great. But WandaVision was more interesting to me.
Short answer: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Long answer: While I completely understand why some people would prefer WandaVision, I have to go with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, for many reasons. First off, the antagonists. In WandaVision we had Agatha and Hayward, and honestly, looking back, Agatha was pretty mediocre towards the end, and Hayward is straight up the worst villain in the MCU. Yes, I know, Karli and the rest of the Flag Smashers were poorly written, but they weren't nearly as bad, and even if they were, I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about Zemo and Walker. Those two were easily the best part of the show, Zemo had the charisma, and a nice anti-villain touch, while Walker had this complex story arc about being unable to live up to the Captain America mantle, and ultimately redeeming himself for the things he'd done by saving the truck. Also, while Sharon wasn't certainly the best, she has the potential to be amazing in the future. Heck, she might even be a Skrull.
Another one of the best parts was, of course, Isaiah Bradley. His story is so tragic, yet so realistic, is almost terrifying. I'd love for him to have a chat with Luke Cage at some point. Daniel Brühl, Wyatt Russell and Carl Lumbly played their parts amazingly.
And my biggest compliment for TFaTWS is... it never flopped. Even if you thought an episode was weaker than the previous one, the show kept its quality, something I personally can't say about WandaVision. In the finale, every moment felt well deserved. Sam being accepted as the new Captain America, Bucky being essentialy a part of Sam's family and finally having some peace after so much violence in his life, Walker redeeming himself, becoming U.S. Agent and starting to work with Val, Isaiah receiving his well deserved memorial at the museum, heck, even Zemo got to do something, he got the last laugh and he didn't even say a line. In WandaVision, the only moment that felt well deserved was the Vision vs. Vision Ship of Thesseus discussion and maybe Wanda saying goodbye to the children. Darcy, Jimmy and Monica had been the best part of that show, and none of them got to do something interesting. Also, no one handled the Westview situation properly. They either wanted to kill off Wanda, or they saw her as a poor victim who did nothing wrong, and none of those was the best option. In TFaTWS, we heard the point of view of everyone about Karli and her cause. Sam and Bucky wanting to reason with her, Walker and Lemar wanting to arrest her, and Zemo believing that no super soldier should be allowed to exist.
But anyways that's just my opinion.
I'm really not sure. I loved both, a lot, but I think The Falcon and The Winter Soldier beats Wandavision a bit, just because it has a better villain and it's much more suspenseful and serious. But Wandavision was just as amazing, in its own category and way. If that makes sense.
I loved WandaVision.
But Falcon and the Winter Soldier was WAY more satisfying because WandaVision rly didnt move the MCU forward too much.
I love both but I prefer tfatws. First off, the antagonists were better, Agnes was catchy but she didn’t put up much of a fight. Walker was honestly a great villain. I was really anxious when got the serum and scared of him when he fought the flag smashers and killed one of them. I got goosebumps watching him repeatedly hit the guy and then stand up with blood on the shield and people watching him and recording. I really liked the scene where he had a choice to either go after Karli or save the bus full of people and he picked the latter because he wasn’t has bad as he seemed.
The show also shed light on some real Black struggles. Isaiah’s story, for example, highlights how Black heroism is buried so that white people may shine. Then, we see Sam get denied for a bank loan, even though he had saved so many people. What I absolutely loved was that Sam could have been made Captain America, the show could have avoided racism, but instead we were shown what it meant to be a black Captain America. It was a nice moment when Bucky acknowledged the fact that neither he nor Steve could know what it meant for a Black man to wield the shield.
It focuses on the lives of heroes and characters that had been sidelined. Bucky and Sam’s character development was just amazing. We get to see Bucky struggling with who he is and try to make amends for everything he did as the Winter soldier, Sam having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that he got the shield, we see the normal lives and problems that even heroes face. Moreover, we see what being a fugitive has done to Sharon who feels betrayed and ends up becoming the power broker, she was underused in the movies. I’m glad Sharon’s getting a bigger role in the MCU. Zemo’s full costume and his story and part in the show was a bonus. The series also tells us what happened after the snap, and when everyone came back, how it affected people and countries and how people are coping with it.
The ending was great to see Bucky opening up to people and Sam finally accepting the mantle of captain america. The dora milaje scene was iconic. And a lot of new characters are introduced like Isaiah, joaquin, elijah and the amazing cameo of valentina. Tfatws opened up a lot possibilities for future mcu projects.
(the humor was also a plus)
Don’t get me wrong I love wandavision too
In my opinion, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is definitely ten times better than WandaVision. The final battle between Agatha and Wanda was absolutely boring. I expected more. The vision vs vision was also boring. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier final battle was amazing. I was more excited to see Falcon in the Captain America suit than Wanda in a Scarlet Witch suit. And I was also happy seeing US Agent in his comic accurate costume than White Vision. Wandavision was off to a good start. It had many mysteries. People came up with tons of theories. But unfortunately, almost all of the theories were turned to dust after the final episode.
What do you think?
