I was rewatching Captain America: The Winter Soldier and it stuck out to me when Sam said about Bucky: “He’s not the kind of guy you save, he’s the kind of guy you stop.”
This was interesting to me because that is the exact opposite of what Sam has been trying to do with Karli in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He’s been insisting that he can talk her down and he tries to reason with her. John actually takes the position that Sam used to have and is just focused on stopping Karli.
I think it’s really cool how Sam has changed throughout the course of this franchise. It seems like he learned from Steve that violence is not always the best approach. This, in my opinion, further shows why he is worthy of the title of Captain America. He adds his own traits to the mantle while also preserving what Steve believed in, like trying to help instead of hurt.
