@DCOMadicted23 thats how I feel too. I get very attached to old things, like characters and stuff, so when they first made a new Captain America I was definitely not happy. You can’t replace him.
And Bucky and Sam’s response was great, especially Bucky’s because that’s exactly how I felt. I hope they don’t completely just ruin John Walker’s whole character, but he doesn’t deserve to be Captain America, at least in my opinion.
Episode 2 was absolute 🔥. I'm a huge John Walker fan so love seeing his intro and how they are building his character. We all know Sam will get the shield, and deservingly so, but I can't wait to see what happens with Walker and if he becomes the U.S. Agent. Love Lemar Hoskins is here also. Isiah Bradley's scene was so good. The revelancy of the racism Isaiah spoke about, what the government is doing to Sam, and what the police assumed of Sam is all so powerful. Hope Sam goes back to visit Isaiah and we get a awesome backstory. Bucky being very upset about Sam giving up the shield and his reason why was so heart wrenching. The Flag Smashers all being super soldiers and the mention of the Power Broker is all very interesting. There is so much great stuff going on and Zemo was only just shown at the end of the epsiode, no Sharon Carter yet, and we've seen so many scenes from the trailer in the first 2 episodes already. So much great stuff still in store for us. I love it.
Walker strikes me as a glory hog. A guy who does a certain gig for the fame and recognition, not to save lives and put bad guys away. Remember during the car ride he said he was looking for Sam and Bucky not the flag smashers, I think he was thinking if he can get Steve’s best friends approval being the new “Captain America” then he can sway the public to do the same. Plus he was doing press interviews and stopping to take selfies, that one episode more than proved that he is not worthy to be Steve Rogers’s successor
I'll be honest I don't really want a second Captain America. I don't care who it is, I just don't want another one, because I don't like when they replace characters. But Sam will likely get the shield, he's be my top choice if I had too.
But yeah, I agree with @Electron245 , Walker dosen't seem like a good guy imao, especially when he was like: Then stay out of my way
Dude! The show is Falcon and the Winter Solider, not New Captain America or U.S. Agent or whatever! Ugh don't get me started about Walker. He thinks he can go in there, get Cap's closest friends and just be Captain America. That's not how it works.
Adding onto all of this—the way Walker immediately referred to Bucky with his nickname even though he doesn’t even KNOW THE GUY is just. Astounding. His therapist calls him James. He asked SAM not to call him Bucky IIRC. It STINKS of him being overly familiar to try to get Bucky and Sam on his side. (Don’t even get me started on the lack of goddamn respect almost everyone on this show shows when they refer to Steve as just “Steve” when they DIDN’T EVEN KNOW HIM. Not even “Captain Rogers”, just “Steve”. God, it’s irritating.)
EDIT: They also do it with Sam!!!! Everyone is just out here calling him by his first name instead of “Falcon” or his former rank!! I may give a pass for this because we don’t know if Sam has told the people that he’s working with to refer to him by his first name offscreen but at this point it’s a pattern.
@ElisWish Agreed on your first point, although Sam and Joaquin might be friends enough where they’re on a first name basis.
@DCOMadicted23 I honestly thought the new cap was being reasonable for the most part in this episode but I do think he is only playing a part and his true colours will be revealed soon. Btw I know a lot of people loved Chris Evans/Steve Rogers as cap but I think captain America is more of a title and the reason Steve chose Sam to be the new cap is because in his heart he wants to do the right thing,
Great episode. This show is looking to be way better than wandavision
@DCOMadicted23 I agree, and I'm not sure how I feel about this "new Captain America". First of all, it seemed to sudden, which can kind of seem to be disrespectful towards the former. However, I am 100% supportive towards Sam getting the shield mainly because Steve was the one to actually give it to him and he's has the personality to be the new Cap as he always wants to the right thing. And yes, I liked Sam and Bucky's response to John.
What really stood out to me is that Bucky felt bad when Sam gave the shield away and how they interacted throughout the episode. It made me think about the series' description saying to "test patience" which may be something dealing with Sam and Bucky, especially when they were annoyed with each other.
I have to say, I have nothing wrong with the actor, seems like a good guy and all, but its just the character that hes playing that i dislike so much.
What do you think?
