I mean, irl dying stars, tend to be able to create heavier and heavier elements, including several metals. So Uru might be the name given to a metal alloy created by the chemical shenanigans of said dying star. But I believe it is more or less implied the star only helps forging the Uru, rather than necessarily being the source of the metal.
