Adam Brashear, known as Blue Marvel, is a prodigy in electronic engineering and theoretical physics. He participated in the Korean War and was considered a hero by the United States government along with his friend and colleague Conner Sims, later known as the villainous Anti-man.
Blue Marvel became the leader of a scientific project with the intention of studying the Negative Zone together with his colleague SIms. The project went awry and caused both of them to gain powers through the Negative Zone.
Later, President John F. Kennedy gave Adam the Medal of Freedom for his service in the war. At the same awards show, the president asked Blue Marvel to stand down as a hero. The reason: the world was not yet ready for a superhero like him (the United States was too racist to accept it). Blue Marvel understood this and withdrew from heroic actions. Of course, Conner Sims did not take it well on this (especially when the work of Blue Marvel in the war with Korea was not recognized) and, using his new powers, he decided to launch a crusade against racism on Earth.
Basically the summarized history of Blue Marvel. The character is something recent in the comics (Debut in 2008) and has had participation in some events. His main allies are Uatu the Watcher, Monica Rambeau and Carol Danvers (The latter two teamed up with him as the Ultimates: along with Black Panther, America Chavez and Galactus). He also had interactions with Jimmy Woo and Doctor Doom.
