He knows well what to say, if he said the shows are canon he feels he would have to take everything established on those shows and fans might beel obliged to see them, and that is clearly not what he wants. Because those shows don't really add more to the MCU storyline, they are just bonus.
He also knows saying they are non canon is false and would enrage a lot of fans who have followed these shows for years, and I am damn sure he at least has checked the wiki and saw all the love and dedication the pages of those shows have received, and I believe he knows some characters might fit his ongoing narrative, he is smart.
But he could very well said they are not considering those versions of the characters, and yet he didn't. I justt appreciate he knows what he is dealing with and that our previous MCU TV characters will get the respect. Also, I am sure he doesn't forget about Nick Fury, Lady Sif, and others appearing in those shows before, nor that they established some stuff for the MCU Sandbox. To me, this is really exciting to hear.
