Agents of Shield S7 Finale

I’ve been wondering this since the finale premiered. I still don’t know the answer. Why did Deke have to stay in the 80s. Couldn’t another agent from the past have pressed the button to send the team to the present? Why did it have to be an agent from the team?

He said it himself when Sousa volunteered. He was the only one who was able to operate it given his technological knowledge.

Yeah, they needed someone with the technical knowledge, it was more than just pushing a button. Deke is really good with tech, so it makes sense.

Hell, he wanted to stay. I wonder how he manages to juggle being the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a rock star in his reality, though?

I wish characters from SHIELD could have been in SWORD in some of these Disney Plus shows. Mac, Daisy, Yo-Yo, they've earned it.

Neutron Lightning there was actually an interview with Chloe Bennett (Daisy) that was highlighted on the broader Marvel fandom where she said that she didn’t think that the finale was necessarily the last time she was going to play that character. So maybe they will join SWORD, who knows.

@BluChargeVoltage - yeah, Loeb and some of the casting said they could be back after almsot every cancellation. And this is a totally false promise until it's not happening, and by Feige, it looks like it's not happening.

A Daisy or Mack cameo in WandaV as SWORD agents would blow my mind. (or anyone else actually)
