So no one is going to talk about how the timeline is completely messed up and that it's complicated to know what's coming next ? How are they gonna explain all that ? I mean in Avengers Endgame it's made clear that it's branching timelines that are created with each change, but when the Shield team comes back to their time - I am assuming they will since Piper is listed for the last episode - they will be in a totally different timeline and no effects will be felt regarding the " main " MCU timeline ? What I'm curious to know about is WHEN did the timeline " break " ? Was it when FitzSimmons left to do their " time jump " thingy in S6 ? Before that when Coulson changed the future by giving the serum to Quake ? It would make a lot of sense if it was at that moment because it would explain why there was no mention of Thanos and the Snap - besides the fact that it was said he was there and that there was a rumble in New York - but man ... I hope they explain all that quick. I HATE these plot points lol

They haven't rewritten the timeline. They are in a new reality. Just as in Season 5. In Season 5 they were taken out from the main timeline and made multiple timejumps just lile the Avengers but when they returned they were back in the timeline they left. So they are going to return to 2019 MCU timeline either way.

There was no mention of the Snap because of logistical reasons. Trying to find a reasoning by now is just absurd.

@Marvelus could the 2091 timeline be more of a “what if” timeline? Like in “A Christmas Carol” taken to Christmas Future, to see what could be the future if things are not changed.

Im not saying it is not real because that’s where Deke came from. It is a viewpoint to how see that timeline to be.

As for season 7, I am wondering if things continue get changed by the Chronicoms and therefore also by the AOS, but eventually they take action that reverts everything that occurred, leaving their timeline intact. This also started with the Shrike and then the confederacy invading, so maybe they stop that from happening, so the Chronicoms never want to become as hostile as they are.

However, both a new reality and rewriting the main timeline could be correct. What if the reality that plays out first (Destroyed Earth) is the main timeline, and then by altering it so it doesn't happen, what they've changed becomes the new main timeline. However, just because they rewrite what happens doesn't mean that the other timeline doesn't happen, as it then becomes an alternate or aborted timeline. So, they can both work with each other. I like to see it as this, and with what's happening in season 7, whatever's happening now becomes the main timeline. But still, those events thats are being changed still exist in there non-altered form in another reality that co-exists with the main one... if that makes sense.

It will be interesting to see how this ends. Rarely, have I seen the television shows influence the films. There has been some examples, maybe minor in the scope of the entire MCU. Any ways, what I am getting at is that I don’t see any serious changes to timeline changing what occurs in the upcoming Phase 4 films and shows. For example, Project Insight just being in Winter Solder.

So I see two scenarios happening:

1) They do create a new timeline, presuming save Earth and SHIELD, the surviving cast live in the new timeline, that might not get reference in any future MCU shows/films.

2) They find a way to revert the actions from the Chronicoms and return to prime timeline.

My concern with the new timeline, is that it leads to not seeing any of those characters again because now they are living out in a different timeline that may not be feature in any new shows.

I guess we will wait and see. I’m still enjoying this season very much. Not complaining about the season, just worry about how it might end.

So we are assuming that the 1973 and 1976 events are taking place in an alternate timeline now?

Well the things happening in the recent episode aren't what happened in the known history, but whether or not is is an alternate timeline is difficult to say. Technically it is alternate to what we know the timeline to be, but does that mean it is not the main timeline?

I see. An alternative would also be that they manage to manipulate files and other stuff so the history books still maintain the dates that they knew about. We'll see.

Do we know how time monolith works? It send the team to 2091 in 4x22 but was it the future of the original timeline or a possible future for the timeline that can be changed based on the events prior to it. Anyway, they changed the events of that time frame so in return it has to create another reality that's diverged in 2091. So when they go back to 2018 do they land in the original timeline or the 2018 version of the new Destruction of Earth timeline? İf they land in the new Destruction of Earth timeline than that means they changed that timeline again in 5x22 so then they create another timeline. So the timelines are;

• Original MCU timeline that had a possible Destruction of Earth scenario but thanks the teams effort that possibilty isn't goning to happen so the timeline is saved.

• Destruction of Earth v1 timeline: that is similar to original timeline until 5x22 but talbot wins and 2091 future happens.

• Destruction of Earth v2 timeline: it's the same of the v1 until agents arrive

• Original MCU timeline until 5x22 where Destruction of Earth posssiblity is eliminated so a new timeline created.

Or the more possible outcome I'm wrong and nobody know the full rules of any time travel story in-inuverse and out-universe.
