One topic of debate since the introduction of the Multiverse regarding the MCU has been how to deal with articles for alternate counterparts of characters that are already established. Multiple ideas were thrown, each one had its advantages and disadvantages, but the one that we'll be using will be the
sub-pages.

What are sub-pages? The same kind of articles we already use for galleries, credits, seasons, etc. The structure of
Main Article/
Differentiative.

There already are multiple articles across the wiki for characters that are alternate counterparts of our main ones: The Framework, Monolith Constructions, Dark Dimension illusions, Cerebral Fusion Machine simulations...
All of them, and the new ones about to come, will follow the structure above, which means the parenthesis will be left for unrelated characters that happen to share the same name, while alternate counterparts will always use the slash.

Yes, that means that all those links, such as Peggy Carter (What If...?), that were created in a rush by people wanting to be the ones who added them when
What If...? was announced, will
never be created under that name. For instance, the Differentiative will always have to be an in-universe reference, ideally, the name of the reality they hail from, but for now, we can't predict the future.

Keep in mind that, even if they hail from an alternate reality, characters that don't have a main counterpart will not be created as sub-pages. For the Framework reality, characters such as
Chris Adler or
Julia Price don't use them because there are no characters in the main reality with that name, therefore, no need for them to have sub-pages.

Same will happen if two characters happen to share their name without being counterparts to each other. An article about a guy named "Gary" from an alternate reality will have a name with a parenthesis and not a subpage of "Gary", just like
Gary (Cameraman),
Gary (Doctor) or
Gary (Henchman).

Regarding to the content of the article, Fandom has coding tools that allow to show the same text from an article right into another one, without the need to copy paste the articles and apply changes to both. It will be used to show the biography of the alternate counterpart that is exactly the same until a point where they diverge.

However, Fandom is migrating to a new server platform, and coding may change, so we will all exercise caution and patience before we can actually use or see this. Just know that this is the ultimate goal. Therefore, the split of existing articles and creation of new ones is, for the time being
strictly forbidden. (We've been fine for a year without two articles for Thanos, there is no rush in creating them now just because of this).

Hope this clarifies things regarding this particular subject.
