I know it is all rumor right now, but it’s not a surprise since Feige seems very interested in Captain Marvel. Having Captain Marvel lead the next Avengers team is real possibility. Having Captain Marvel sequel lead that is interesting to see how the story will go. I am assuming her film will be more cosmic and she fighting the Kree or someone away from Earth, but maybe a new threat is coming to Earth that brings her back.

I hope they first find a way to make Carol a more cohesive character. Then the leader should be Black Panther.

I don't really think T'Challa should be an Avenger, it doesn't seem like it would fit. He's the King of his own country, only getting involved when he has to (or for revenge that one time). I think the Avengers will be willing to reach to him for support, but I don't think he's likely to be a full team member.

I don't really see any currently-existing character leading the Avengers, honestly. I don't have anything against Carol's character, she was a trained soldier who bottled up her emotions and struggled to let them out, once she did, she became the angry, proud soldier with strong familial connections.

Besides, Songbird should be one of the New Avengers to fit

I would love Moonstone to be the villain. But the Fanning sisters look too muck alike to be totally unrelated characters. And Moonstone is supposed to be older.

I would like for Ronan to return and have some redemption.

Genis-Vell could also be a choice.
