Didnt we kinda already know this since Endgame?
@Anotherbatmanfan No, immediately after Endgame, we believed that Thor would appear in GotG Vol 3 and didn’t know there would be a Thor 4.
I believe that Thor will be with the Guardians for one year or so, since the events of Avengers: Endgame, and we will see in Thor: Love and Thunder, that Thor is with the Guardians as well, but, he must go back to Asgard (New Asgard in this sense) to help or save the Asgardians, that are in trouble or something. I feel like... Thor kinda just dumped his ruling over Asgard. A true king does not do that. Yes, it is noble to give the role to a trusted and worthy successor (Valkyrie), but leaving your people behind is not noble. I believe that something bad or threatening will happen over the Asgardians status, that will force Thor to detach, from his Guardians adventures to help and save the Asgardians in whatever way. I believe the Guardians will mostly be out of the movie, but might appear in the beginning of the movie, for context, and in the end, maybe helping in a final battle or something...
Idk, just what I think it will happen.
Thor didn't exactly "leave" his people. He tried to be King, which he was always meant to be, but realised that it wasn't right for him. He found himself doing harm to his people as their leader due to not being able to cope with loss. He then did right by his people in appointing Valkyrie as their leader, which was the right move. Thor then went to figure out who he is, while he can still care for the Asgardians, he doesn't have that same responsibility to rule them anymore.
True... but Thor is a super strong and highly powerful guy... he has wits a lot of other Asgardians seriously lack. Its okay to give up ruling the nation and appoint Valkyrie... but if the Asgardians need serious help... as Thor is with the Guardians, he won't be able to help. And his help might be very needed. His absence might be seen as recklessness by some.
Who knows, maybe, whatever the villain is going to be in Thor: Love and Thunder, maybe he was waiting for Thor to leave or give up on Asgard, to make his move... idk, just throwing reasons, I believe are valid, for Thor to return to Asgard.
So just because he is powerful he should stay in Asgard forever? I'll remind you that Thor left Asgard to be on Earth and other realms previously. However, whenever he was needed back, he would return to help protect Asgard. He is now capable of teleporting anywhere, so it's not like he can never return if they're in danger. However, Thor is a hero, he will protect more than just Asgard, but all peoples.
Anyone else notice that MCU Thor is closer to comic Herc?
Sounds cool, though it will probably only be for 2 minutes like how Dr Strange did in Thor 3
What if this is the third GotG movie, just renamed?
Then it will be a waste of a Thor movie featuring Jane Foster as Thor, King Valkyrie, and Christian Bale as the villain. I believe the Guardians role will simply be at the start and like Doctor Strange in Ragnarok.
What do you think?
