I get that the post deconstructing these arguments is too long to read, so let's abbreviate it.

Hollywood directors are 88% male. That's why we have to have a female director. Not out of charity, but out of necessity. Not out of spite for men, but because there's not enough women.

@Cherriesgood12 Sexist? How is being sexist when we are simply asking why it has to be a women? I personally think that Captain Marvel could have been better, but it was my that good to watch for me. So let me ask you this, how is it not sexist to separate women from men? If women are equal to men (which I believe) then why do they have to be separated by gender? Choose a director by talent, not gender.
