Well, I am not sure if a Drax's movie is up to Gunn, but none of the Guardians can work in a standalone movie... Maybe Groot and Rocket in a TV series, but no. They are all great in a group.

He awnsered a quastion that from all of the guardians he liked to make a solo movie for drax the most, but people are saying that James Gunn only said it because Dave Batista said he would leave his role as Drax if James Gunn didn’t direct gotg vol 3. But who knows if it will ever happen. Maybe if they involve his daughter moondragon in it, it might work!

To me Drax is just one of the funny characters used to make jokes and would have a hard time in a solo movie. The guardians are a team and so non of them would really work in a stand alone movie. Although it would be cool to have a show on disney+ where each episode is a bit of back ground to one of the guardians and then maybe some of their adventures as well.

I think a one-shot for each character of the Guardians would be the closest we could get. A one-shot about Drax won't hurt anyone.

Black Widow kind of seemed to be a supporting character and they are doing a movie about her.

about Drax; something covering his past would be ok to me. movie/show/episode/one-shot/etc; does not matter to me on which.

perhaps also the same about Gamora/Nebula. maybe also Thanos.

@Mdsb759 the reason they’re doing a black widow film is because most fans wanted it & it’ll feature the story about Budapest which was mentioned in the first Avengers film.
