Ever since the Disney acquisition of Fox, the future of Deadpool has remained uncertain at this point. A lot of fans have feared that Disney and Marvel would reduce Deadpool from an R-rated character to a PG-13 character in the MCU. But, it looks like those fears will be put to rest. Ryan Reynolds and the screenwriters of Deadpool (2016) Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have revealed that they are talking with Marvel Studios regarding the future of Deadpool and how he'll be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reynolds even posted a picture on Instagram of him standing in front of the Marvel Studios logo revealing that talks are happening regarding Deadpool 3.
"Disney CEO Bob Iger previously stressed that Deadpool would remain a vital franchise following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, while other Fox Marvel franchises like X-Men and Fantastic Four are due to be rebooted under the guidance of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige." Which means that, as confirmed multiple times by Bob Iger, Deadpool will remain an R-rated character in the MCU. What might go down is that in his solo movies, Deadpool will remain rated R, while in the MCU movies under Disney with other heroes like Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and the rebooted X-Men, he'll be a PG-13 character in those films. The best of both worlds.
Check out the article below and leave your thoughts. Are you excited about the possibility of Deadpool joining the MCU and remaining a R-rated character? Or, are you still skeptical about this and might prefer that Deadpool remains a solo act outside of the MCU?
